Last night I heard a song on the radio and each verse started with the word 'Completely ..' Completely round.... completely square... completely rectangular.... I wasn't quick enough to get the words down and wondered if this was an old Folk song or just a comedy song. Please help if you can. Thank you very much. If someone has the words and tune I'd be very grateful. I checked the DT but either missed it or it's not there.

I have found the words in the link you gave AllanC so thank you very much, now all I have to do is get a tune and learn it. :-) I should have named this "Word/music help for this song" rather than the titi;e I gave it - sorry.

It's a folksong if they let you sing it in a fok club! Several people have sung it at Bedford FMC, some professionally. If they don't like it at you local, send 'em to Hilary Spencer for her opinion!

I've sung it in lots of folk clubs - no complaints (that I heard). I still maintain that virtually any song is a folk song - it depends how you sing it.This has been discussed many times in various threads.

I too have been murdering this song for years, but don't know if that makes it a folk song. Haven't had any oats for a while if that helps ¦¬]

I've never wasted time worrying if a song is "folk" or not - if it will go down well with the audience and I enjoy singing it, that's good enough for me.

I have heard "The Shape of Things" sung in folk clubs many times and it always seems to be well appreciated. In fact, I've been nagging Linda to learn it for some time now.
