Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: Ross Date: 04 Jan 07 - 10:27 AM Many apologies - it's been hard celebrating the new year and getting back in the groove Worst joke of all time Baby balloon tries to get into Bed with Mummy balloon and Daddy balloon - he is sent back to his own bed with a flea in his ear - later he sneaks back when they are asleep - he finds he can't fit in between them - so he lets some air out of Mummy balloon, then some air from Daddy balloon, then some air from himself All fits perfectly and he falls asleep When Daddy balloon wakes up and sees what Baby balloon has done He rounds on Baby Balloon furiously - You've let your Mother down, You've let me down, and most importantly, you've let yourself down It was one of Dereks |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: The PA Date: 04 Jan 07 - 10:32 AM No Ross the biggest joke of all time is me getting planning permission from our council, to build a house, know anyone I can bribe? |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: Ross Date: 04 Jan 07 - 10:41 AM You'll get it easy PA How can those faceless bureaucrats turn down a fine and decent citizen as yourself Tell em your human rights Mind you - here in the home counties it's not possible to find a plot of land to build a house on It's traditional here in Herts/Beds to buy a house, knock it down and build another one - how barmy is that? |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: The PA Date: 04 Jan 07 - 11:11 AM This is greenbelt! Thats the catch. Our reason (excuse) is that we need to live on the premises (stable yard) cos of the amount of horse thefts etc. in our area. When we built the stables we wanted the colour of the materials to blend in with the surrounding area, ie green. They made us have light grey with a blue roof - now thats barmy! |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: Cathie Date: 04 Jan 07 - 12:32 PM Ross The farmer's wife's tale is a fine song that I would like to hear again. If you dress up in character it'll be even more authentic. |

Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: The PA Date: 05 Jan 07 - 03:40 AM Blimey Ross, Breezy dont want much does he. Then he accuses you of telling other people's jokes !!! He can talk, most of his jokes are other peoples. I've sent an engineer to Chile. He turned up on one flight and his tools (including a Hilti gun!) and luggage on another. He's on a one way ticket cos I don't know how long he'll be there. Police got suspicious and held him at the airport. When he finally got to site the materials had not arrived. They're in a container on a ship in the Bahamas !! Never a dull moment ! |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: Ross Date: 05 Jan 07 - 04:18 AM Hi PA - they are frightfully pro in St Albans As an American preacher said - there is no point in asking God for anything vague - be specific - Don't ask him for a car - Ask him for a big red car with a 2 litre engine and an ashtray - it worked for Noel Edmonds Green belt - that is a problem - why don't you apply to build a motorway and put a caravan on it - they seldom turm new roads down How does a balloon commit suicide - they let themselves down Fancy being in Chile without your tools Special greetings to Dame Cathy |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: The PA Date: 05 Jan 07 - 06:24 AM Here's one for the girlies: When you mix water and flour you get glue. When you add eggs and sugar etc you get cake? Where does the glue go? Easy, its still there, its the glue that sticks the cake to your butt !! Off to Chile to rescue my engineer! |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: Ross Date: 05 Jan 07 - 09:49 AM Hi PA - don't forget your jumper I'll go to the Bahamas if you need someone to pick up the tools Everything I made as a kid with flour and water was a disaster Christmas wasn't kind too me either - I've got a lovely bust Must be 40C at least |

Could anyone organise a pre session run-round-the-block on Wednesdays? We could call it an outing. yeah, thinking aloud, I am going to do that. Nobody knows me on the streets of Barton. No weigh in or Bust measuring allowed. |

Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: breezy Date: 08 Jan 07 - 09:39 AM did you omit the comma intentionally after 'woman' Ross ? Whats the score at the Globe then? and where is it , and its raining in Dunstable today, but they are warm hearted folk nevertheless. |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: Scrump Date: 08 Jan 07 - 09:42 AM How does a balloon commit suicide - they let themselves down Ah, that's just a cry for help. Stabbing itself with a pin is by far the best way for a balloon to commit suicide. |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: Ross Date: 08 Jan 07 - 09:51 AM Hi John - The Globe is in Edward Street which runs parallel west with High Street North in the town centre The session is run by Rick who runs a bluegrass band called 'Sons of the Soil' Music mix is varied - the more folkies turn up, the more folkier it becomes There is some pretentious claptrap - but who cares Sorry - I should have written; old wom(e)n gossip about Cathy on every street corner - that's what happens when you rush, rush, rush It's bloody orrible today - the residents of Dunstable are a hardy bunch - they even knocked it down without them realising |

Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: The PA Date: 08 Jan 07 - 11:05 AM How do you know? |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: Ross Date: 09 Jan 07 - 04:08 AM In the summer he comes to sessions virtually naked with Eric Morecambe shorts and all over golden tan Sort of a cross between Burt Reynolds and Tiny Tim But boy can he play guitar |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: The PA Date: 09 Jan 07 - 04:38 AM Virtually Naked !!!! Oh My God !!!! I certainly hope he wears panties cos when ya sit down in Eric Morcambe shorts - well its enough to scare the horses! Jeeezus ! I hope the front row is well back. Just had the list of hourly charges from the planning consultant - think it'll be cheaper to bribe the whole district coucil. |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: breezy Date: 09 Jan 07 - 06:00 AM Bert Tim or Tiny Reynolds, I do not have hairy knees I do not wear Eric Morecambe shorts I play chords and sing unaccompanied next viewing Sunday 21st Jan at the Rose and Cown Bit windy today Dilute the listerene, 50% H20 its too acidic according to my hygienist And I do not wear 'panties', I'm a boxers man. lie la lie |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: The PA Date: 09 Jan 07 - 06:03 AM How can you play chords - and sing unaccompanied, if you're doing one you can't be doing the other. If you're not wearing EM's shorts does that mean its just boxers - no wonder its windy today. |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: breezy Date: 09 Jan 07 - 06:29 AM Ha! ha! and also sing unaccmpnd trot on |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: The PA Date: 09 Jan 07 - 06:55 AM Try putting the chords together you'll find they make a tune. Trot on - indeed, cheeky. |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: Ross Date: 09 Jan 07 - 08:16 AM oops - perhaps I did exaggerate somewhat We've all seen JB's 'G' string though Reminds me of Alans joke In the clearing stands a boxer with a poodle by his side |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: The PA Date: 09 Jan 07 - 08:30 AM I am so tempted to make a joke about thinging a thong, but I'm not going to because its just too obvious. |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: The Unicorn Man Date: 09 Jan 07 - 02:11 PM Breezie sing unacompained???? Love to hear that. |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: breezy Date: 09 Jan 07 - 03:24 PM I do it most of the time apart when others are invited to join me. like sqeeze, moses, Fleggy, geo papa, apart from then I'm on me own , i.e. unaccompanied I can altho perform thumb thongs accapaella !! |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: Ross Date: 10 Jan 07 - 04:02 AM I'm confused - does unaccompanied mean singing without an instrument or performing solo? Does JB rap? Who killed Cock Robin? The Globe was very good last night - we missed you Unicorn Man - fancy, you of all people, getting drunk on a Tuesday lunchtime Bull open mic/jam/workshop tonight |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: The PA Date: 10 Jan 07 - 04:07 AM Rap what - pressies. It was next-doors cat. |

Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: breezy Date: 10 Jan 07 - 06:18 AM rain has stopped |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: Scrump Date: 10 Jan 07 - 06:45 AM Ah, I can see the cause of the confusion now. Breezy uses the term "a capella" for singing without any instrument, and "unaccompanied" for performing alone with an instrument (e.g. guitar). I think I'm right in saying that most people (including me) would use "unaccompanied" to mean the same as "a capella", which is why some of you were confused by Breezy's use of "unaccompanied". I tend to use "solo" to refer to performing by myself, as opposed to in the band or duo (etc.) - I think that's less confusing, and you can use it in conjunction with "unaccompanied" or "a capella" if you like, to indicate performing unaccompanied on your own. That means you can sing unaccompanied with other people, using the definition above. Which sounds a bit strange, I admit... Blimey, I think I've confused myself now. |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: Ross Date: 10 Jan 07 - 07:03 AM Crikey Scrump Did you write all that unaccompanied At least no one has resorted to the 'playing with yourself' level of humour I went to Hatfield this morning and it was bucketing - sun is out in Redbourn now, though - I might take me jumper off I think JB does sing 'a capella' at Herga but I'm not sure if he leads or accompanies others or bans people from accompanying him - Lets ask him everybody JB........................ |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: The PA Date: 10 Jan 07 - 07:17 AM Does Scrump work for local government by any chance - he sounds like a planning officer. Torrential storm at 5am village flooded sunny and dry and warm now! Just going to pop me bikini on. |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: Scrump Date: 10 Jan 07 - 07:31 AM Why thank you. I'll be singing "Local Government Planning Officer Blues" tonight. |
Subject: RE: New Year at the Bull, Barton-in-mud,Beds From: breezy Date: 10 Jan 07 - 03:30 PM sad scrump Solo is playing with yourself, thanks Ross, or should that be 'for' yourself I can do that. I usually wear a cap so I maybe said to be singing in a cap, and if your name is Ella, well there you go. poor s'rump Herga charity night is Mon 5th March, do come along. |

One of my engineers went home to get his sandwiches and found he's lost the front of his house. But what's more important, Duncan the dog and his kennel have also blown away. Sending out search parties for Duncan, he's a King Charles Spaniel for those who are interested. |
