News reports state that the Brits gave GWB a 41 gun salute today. It sounded wrong, as wrong as using the word "nucular."

Check this site. According to this, the maximum number of guns is 21.

He obviously upset Lizzie overnight. They probably gave up trying to hit him when he managed to dodge forty one blasts! They say God looks after drunks and fools.

Word on the street is that 4 refused to fire their weapons, so the 41 has gone to 21 to 17.

Actually the 41 is probably correct - the British go in for more guns than Americans on ceremonial occasions. 41 is the number they fired off when the Queen Mother died. It even goes as high as 124 on some occasions.

Isn't Cheney already running things, anyway? If he lost his puppet, he'd have to scramble to find a suitable replacement. I can see it now - Rick Santorum for President! Instead of 'a chicken in every pot' his slogan could be "A camera in every bedroom!"   Hmmm, maybe Hrothgar is right. Anyway, Bush has already almost been done in by a pretzel and a scooter, I think you Brits can put away the heavy artillery. Perhaps a banana peel.
