The Moreton in the Marsh Traditional Sing takes place from February 27th to March 1st. This is Will and Pip Noble's gathering. There is a good selection of guests, and Clive Boutle and I are promoting the Marrowbones series on the Saturday afternoon.
The ‘Marrowbones’ book series is one of the most important anthologies published within the last twenty years. The collection consists of six books to date, with another two to be added in the next few months.
The titles cover all of Frank Purslow’s seminal works, including ‘The Wanton Seed’ ‘The Foggy Dew’ ‘The Constant Lovers’ and of course ‘Marrowbones’, with the addition of ‘Southern Songster’ ‘A Yorkshire Songster’ and ‘A Secret Stream’, volumes one and two. A selection from the manuscripts of the late Francis Collinson will soon be added, entitled ‘Collinson’s Treasury’.
Nick Dow will present songs and stories from the books, with help from Megan Wisdom, Bob and Gill Berry, and other surprise guests.
Tickets are available from the Moreton Sing website.

Gavin and Julie Atkin will be contributing, and I'll be reviewing the excellent genealogical work completed by Liz Draper (unless she can make it in person). She has traced nearly every singer from Dorset who sang to the Hammond Brothers in 1906-08, and most have songs in the books. It should be a good event in an excellent weekend meeting.
If there is enough interest, I will be making the info available online for free.

Gee, I wish I could attend this. Will it be available online for us foreigners?
