Subject: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Ebbie Date: 05 Sep 16 - 10:12 PM This American election season is painful, both in duration and in content. One of my concerns is to what we are doing to our children. We try to teach them good manners, compassion and empathy toward others, and tell them that calling each other names and certain words is *bad*. What must they think now? And what can the parents say? I believe that if Donald Trump becomes president, this country is in for a rough ride, to put it mildly but I hope to remain calm and disinterested. After first supporting Bernie Sanders, I will vote for Hillary Clinton, but if Trump gets in I feel like throwing up my hands and saying, OK! You got what you wished for- and I don't want to hear a word of complaint about it. They ain't gonna like it. Chaos, probably global, will become the norm, although my prediction is that if Trump gets in, he will either quit within two years or be impeached within ONE. For some time I've been saying that it is my opinion that within 10 years Mr. Trump will be adjudged insane. Since then I've arrived at the conclusion that I was wrong: he will be certified insane within 5 (FIVE) years. |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Joe Offer Date: 06 Sep 16 - 12:11 AM I said I would move to Canada if Ronald Reagan won, but I didn't. And the world did not come to an end. I don't know what I'll do this time. |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Big Al Whittle Date: 06 Sep 16 - 12:29 AM yeh its got a familiar ring. America elects man making bloodcurdling noises. man gets elected. man just does what the rich guys tell him. its hardly a news story really. |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Joe Offer Date: 06 Sep 16 - 01:25 AM Well, when Reagan got elected, I learned that politics is not the most important thing in the world. I used to put much more emphasis on it, but I learned that there are other things that make the world go round. Music, family, and friends are all more important and more powerful than politics. |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: akenaton Date: 06 Sep 16 - 02:43 AM If the US electoral system and political establishment was made fit for purpose, you may deserve better Presidential candidates. Changing that system and rooting out the corruption at its heart needs slightly more effort than listening to folk music or living in a world in which politics are not allowed to intrude? Mr Trump has battled against the Republican establishment from the beginning of this campaign, Mrs Clinton has courted the corporations and Democrat establishment.....has been found to be politically incompetent, personally careless and a supporter of the Cold War mentality. Anyone who supported Mr Sanders on a platform of social change, only to see him undermined by the Democratic party establishment, must wonder about the legitimacy of the process. |

Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Andrez Date: 06 Sep 16 - 07:58 AM If Trump wins, we all lose! Cheers, Andrez, from the other side of the globe and the southern hemisphere. |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Backwoodsman Date: 06 Sep 16 - 09:01 AM The US seems to have a very odd habit of electing a President of one political hue, and then promptly electing a Congress predominantly composed of his political opponents, who proceed to bugger-up and put a stop to everything he tries to do. They did it with Obama, who's to say they won't do it again with The Donald? |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Rapparee Date: 06 Sep 16 - 09:22 AM I'm more concerned about what happens if Trump loses. If he is the winner things will work themselves out because it still takes Congress to act and it can render Executive Orders null and void. If he loses, I suspect he'll whine and complain that the election was rigged and urge his followers to "do something." |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Backwoodsman Date: 06 Sep 16 - 10:18 AM Well that was my point, Rap. :-) :-) |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Stilly River Sage Date: 06 Sep 16 - 11:43 AM Ake is still reading the propaganda and still saying the same thing. The parrot routine gets old, fast. |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: frogprince Date: 06 Sep 16 - 12:14 PM I'm almost as certain that Trump is going down as I am of my desire to see that outcome. But I'm also almost certain of something that I hope I'm wrong about, which is that a number of Trump supporters will gun down a number of those whom they hold responsible for "fixing" the election. |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: akenaton Date: 06 Sep 16 - 01:13 PM Ok Acme.....what is wrong with what I said? The system IS obviously corrupt. Trump has fought against the corrupt establishment. Mrs Clinton has been proved "careless" and politically incompetent The Clinton Dynasty ARE the establishment, and courted money from all the big corporations. Mr Sanders was discriminated against by the Democratic party hierarchy. Please prove me wrong. |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Donuel Date: 06 Sep 16 - 04:07 PM You Jews and Catholics better watch your step under a Trump regime. Blacks had their day in the sun so what do they have to lose in these post Obama days? Get your papers in order Watch what you say on Yelp Careful with your associations Don't expect the courts to help. Your kids will fight his wars when women are whores and deals are lies to the core And Reality TV will entertain you to death. |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Donuel Date: 06 Sep 16 - 04:59 PM if tRUMP wins , Hillary will serve time for cruel and inhumane acts against digital devices by way of saws, hammers and bleach. Potential treason will become a felony. |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Greg F. Date: 06 Sep 16 - 06:33 PM The hell with Hostradamus-isten to this gent: It is the natural tendency of the ignorant to believe what is not true. In order to overcome that tendency it is not sufficient to exhibit the true; it is also necessary to expose and denounce the false. To admit that the false has any standing in court, that it ought to be handled gently because millions of morons cherish it and thousands of quacks make their livings propagating it—to admit this, as the more fatuous of the reconcilers of science and religion inevitably do, is to abandon a just cause to its enemies, cravenly and without excuse The common man is chiefly to be distinguished by his plentiful lack of common sense: he believes things on evidence that is too scanty, or that distorts the plain facts, or that is full of non sequiturs. Common sense really involves making full use of all the demonstrable evidence—and of nothing but the demonstrable evidence. --- H. L. Mencken |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Greg F. Date: 06 Sep 16 - 06:40 PM >Please prove me wrong. To what end?-you wouldn't believe tongues of fire or a burning bush. |
Subject: RE: BS: If Trump Wins... From: Donuel Date: 06 Sep 16 - 08:25 PM You mean prove Mencken wrong. Greg I can not speak of this Trump scenario without a great deal of humor. If you are claiming I am making predictions you are 180 off course accessing my remarks. I think Ake would happily accept the authority given him by a Trump regime if he lived here, he would be naming names or making lists of the disloyal or supporters of civil rights for the undesirables. |
