With Thanksgiving upon us what are your ***Top Three***...

(Note: This is also a reading test as some folks will list 20 or 30 things...)

(Note 2: The reason that I'm making it just three is because that forces folks to prioritize those things in their life that they are truly thankful for... I mean, a list of 20 or 30 things is way too easy...)

(Note 3: Given the rules, it's okay to start with one, think about the others and then add them...)

Okay, I'll start...

1. I am thankful to have the P-Vine as my mate...

1) Being with Kendall

2) Having such a loving family and friends, both in the UK and the USA

3) Having sufficient resources to make life relatively comfortable.

Good one Patsy.

1. Me mum. It's her 84th birthday today. I delivered roses, chocolates, fruit cake, lobster, a card and a big hug.

Then I cleaned the snow off the driveways and patios and that's why appreciate Patsy's post.

The things that I, personally, am thankful for, are, after considrable thought...

That the younger of my twins has found a happy and supportive (of me {!} and his brother) place in the family. I thank him and my efforts at rearing an odd child for that.

That Mom is still here, matriarching away. I thank her fortitude, perseverance and luck of the genetic draw for that. I am also aware that I'm lucky to have her genes...

That I get to be a professor again. I thank my MeetUp friends for that!

And thank you for this thread, and thanks to all of Mudcat for being exactly what it is. Thanks to Max and the elves and everybody...

On reflection, I suppose 3 could be...

That outside these dark times I do have abilities. On a good day, I can sing and play reasonably... I can for example program a pic chip in C... I can in a very Heath Robinson sort of way be "inventive", etc.

Or maybe 3 could be I do seem to be making friends on a Christian forum...

Or maybe 3 could be that by personal belief that however badly things have turned out, I have at least got out of "God loves everyone else but hates me".

A few thoughts there for you Bobert, I hope.

My parents thank goodness keep going still with the same quirky sense of humour that they have always had. I confess I still don't always agree with their views but we take time to listen to each other and discuss things more calmly these days.

Well, we've been sitting patiently awaiting a "yes 'er no" from the bank on the house we want to buy... Not our bank who has already approved our loan but the seller's bank that has to approve a "short sale"... We thought we would have an answer on Monday... Then it was yesterday... Now it's either today or not this week... So I'm holding out #3 at least until the end of today...

I am thankful for:

1. My family
2. My health and the doctors/nurses who help keep me healthy
3. The health of family and friends.

My list of what I am thankful for is larger this year than it has ever been in my life. It's a good thing you put a limit on the number Bobert.....I could type all day....and you can bet that your name would be on that list as well as several others here at Mudcat! I hope you hear about your house SOON (and with all good news!).

Well, there's my #3 which really is my #1...

"Cancer survivor" and Michelle in the same phrase is my #1 so for anyone counting, please adjust my other #1 to #2 and my #2 to #3...

Now we are getting ready for "Thanksgiving at the P-Vine's Sister's Zoo" and zoo it will be... Seems there have been an unusual number of "musical mates" this past year in the family so I'll be meeting some new ones this Thanksgiving... Hate to see it but it's life...

1. My friends, who are my family
2. My life, including what I've done, who I've known, how I've felt.
3. My awareness. Of beauty, of love, surprise, humor, being happy, dream and hope, of sound and texture, light and dark, and color... I suppose what I'm talking about is being able to notice the good stuff while it's happening around me or in me. Sometimes, the bad stuff gets in the way, but when it doesn't, life is magic.

I absolutely positively HATE my house. So, I have to remind myself, regularly how lucky I am to have a roof over my head. So I'm thankful that I have someplace to live.

I'm thankful for every day I work.

I'm thankful that there's food in my fridge.
