Subject: re-creaTING Babylomian lyrics
From: Mr Red

Composition PhD Stef Conner has tried to re-create some Babylonian music.
Her Folk pedigree is from playing keyboard as part of the Unthanks.
Studying Babylonian poetry is the cited route. Plus lyre & harp experts.

The article that alerted was from New Scientist 20 Sept 2014, p27

The first one certainly has the aura of ancient.

  What do we think?

Richard Dumbrill is the main guy for this.

Peter Pringle has done a bunch of recreated Sumerian stuff, mainly the Epic of Gilgamesh using recreated period instruments.

We HAVE some 2000 year old lyrics from pre-history. According to Mel Brooks, as interviewed by Carl Reiner, the words in translation from stone age memes from the world's first national anthem, are:

"Let 'em all go to hell, except Cave seventy six!"
