Subject: Michael Bryant - RIP From: Fiolar Date: 30 Apr 02 - 08:58 AM The death has occurred of the actor Michael Bryant at the age of 74. Born in 1928, his greatest work was probably with the National Theatre in many Shakesperian roles. His film roles included parts in "A Night to Remember" (1958); "Goodbye Mr Chips" (1969); "Gandhi" (1982) and "Hamlet" (1996). Much of his work was on television and I shall always treasure his performance in the great 1970 series "Roads to Freedom" in 1970 which was an adaptation of Jean-Paul Sartre's novels. Join the other greats, Michael. |

Subject: RE: OBIT: Michael Bryant - RIP From: Linda Kelly Date: 30 Apr 02 - 02:45 PM He was a wonderful actor -absolutely amazing as a prisoner of war in the series 'Colditz'. I best remember him however for a truly delightful play many years ago called 'Mr Axelford's Angel' with Julia Foster. He played a grumpy businessman who eventually falls for his young secretary. It was wonderfully acted piece which could have been hammy but was not. |
