Mary, it doesn't surprise me that you are the first to attempt this quiz. I said in the Secret Santa Goofy hints that I thought thinking was your forte.

Ed, I do agree. I love a good info-detective session, but it is fun to give the questions a go initially, just to test the brain. The fun thing about this quiz is, we hear so many Christmas carols, endlessly, but when someone asks a specific question the answers seem to be buried deep in the subconscious and are often hard to extract.

31 You are out by one year (according to my source of info, which could be wrong)

So did you get a 97.3684210526316% score (i.e. 37/38) plus 2 bonus points because you knew all of the answers without looking them up? If so I am very impressed! If not, then I am impressed with your internet search skills. :-)

I know some of them are too easy, and deliberately so, because I run a trivia challenge game at my local club every week, and I don't like to demoralise the participants too much by asking really hard questions for every question.

Hint for 4: THEOREM FONTS WITTY is the second part of the title, and unless you know British comedy songs from way back in the late 40's you may never guess it. Although, I just found out that an American comic singer also did it back then.

Totally correct for 14 (among the select few on that one! In fact only one other person got both parts of the answer, and that was Mary in Kentucky).

You and Walrus are the only people so far who have the right answer for 36.

And all right everyone, I give up! For question 7, the total number of gifts of a specific type is the sum of the gifts given over the whole twelve days. :-) But that wasn't the answer I was looking for - just the quote from the song will do. "On the sixth day of Christmas my true love sent to me blah bla-ah bla-ah".
