Subject: RE: BS: The P-Vine's Birthday Today!!!... From: Bobert Date: 18 Nov 06 - 09:10 AM Bad, GUEST, bad... My daddy taught me real early that tghere are three things you just don't do... First, you never ask a woman her age... Second, you never ask a woman how much she weighs... I can't tell you the third thing... But, really, what to do fir her birthday??? Well, I found this metal rooster sign/sculpture and had him awaiting for her this mornin' when she walked out into the kitchen... She loves roosters so I've allready done purdy good so... ...hmmmmmm??? Waht more should I do??? Think I'll just grap a couple guitars and head up to D.C. for the barber shop blues jam... Yeah, that sounds like a good way to celebrate the P-Vine's birthday... (Yer askin' fir it again, Bobert...) Hey, I was jus' funnin'... ...kinda... Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: The P-Vine's Birthday Today!!!... From: LilyFestre Date: 18 Nov 06 - 09:48 AM Happy, Happy Birthday P-Vine!! :) Here's to hoping we don't find another What do womenz want? thread tomorrow..... Bobert, I don't really know either of you but I can tell you what is a sure fire hit around this house when it comes to birthdays and that is just a day of being together doing something we BOTH enjoy. Sometimes that means a movie with popcorn, Sourpatch Kids and a huge lemonade (all to share), other days it means a day of antiquing (not necessarily buying things but just enjoying the hunt together). My all time favorites are when he writes something just for my eyes only and last year, as I meandered downstairs in the early morning, he played his guitar and sang for me. :) Gifts are nice but I have always enjoyed the (extra) giving of his time and thought much more. If you take a minute and think about just how much she means to you, you'll know what to do. :) Michelle |

Got a little red rooster Too late to crow for days Yeah, got a little red rooster Too late to crow for days Keeps everything in the barnyard Upset in every way... Bobert |

Or we aren't "in the area" of the barbershop, or something. Anyway I hope you feel really special today Eve, 'cause you are. -R |

Subject: RE: BS: The P-Vine's Birthday Today!!!... From: Bobert Date: 18 Nov 06 - 08:04 PM Well, well, well... What a wonderful day.... Yeah, as per the P-Vine's request we not only went to her favorite resturant, the "Olive Garden" but also, seein' as we usually an entree I let her pick it out without so much as the slightest protest... (No, Bobert, that ain't the way it went down... You protested before givin' in...) Nevermind that, it was yummy... Then it was into D.C. for 3 hours of jammin' and socializin' with my homies and then... ...on the way to the barbershop there was a big ol' rental box truck filed to the ceilin' with collard greens an folks were selling big bagas of 'um for 5 bucks so on the way out we stopped fir a bag of 'um an' the P-Vine asked the folks where they had come from and it was Wilson, N.C. where the P-Vine's people is from and so the P-Vine said "Parker's BBQ" and everyone lit up... So we got a big ol' bag of collards to top off a perfect Birthday... Sorry, Rita, Rita... Put my brownie in the frezer an' I'll get it next time we see you allz... Bobert p.s. Even though the P-Vine thinks that everyone her in Mudville is a knothead (me included) she may be so touched by you allz warm feelings here today that she may break "P-Vine's Rule #119" about talkin' with knotheads and stop by here an' say "hey"... |

Subject: RE: BS: The P-Vine's Birthday Today!!!... From: LilyFestre Date: 18 Nov 06 - 08:41 PM I'd like to take a look at that Rule Book some day...sounds like there might be some interesting tidbits in there. Subject: RE: BS: The P-Vine's Birthday Today!!!... From: Bobert Date: 18 Nov 06 - 09:23 PM Well, yeah, Michelle... The Rule Book is somethin' to behold.... The washington, D.C. football team hired a new offensive cooderator this past season and word was that has waas bringin' a 700 page play book... Well, I sho nuff can relate to them poor football players 'cause the P-Vine Rule Book is so large that a family of four could live in it... Awwwww, jus' funnin'.... But maybe a newlywed couple... Yeah, I really hate to tell everyone her but you'z all been lumped into the knotheads... No exceptions... If you come to Mudville yer a knothead... But, hey, bein' a "knothead" in the P-Vine's book ain't all that bad... When she was etachin' she tell one of her kids that he or she was a "knothead" and the kid would go to sleep with a smile on his or her face... Sho nuff... BObert |

Subject: RE: BS: The P-Vine's Birthday Today!!!... From: JennieG Date: 18 Nov 06 - 11:54 PM A long long time ago before Himself and I knew each other, he was keeping company with a young lady who was apparently a bit gullible....it seems one could tell her anything at all and so long as one also said "it's in the book" she would believe any statement, no matter how outrageous. She was a school teacher and therefore had a great respect for books and the knowledge contained therein. Didn't matter what it was, if it was in a book it was OK by her. Is that like The P-Vine's Rule Book? Cheers JennieG |

Subject: RE: BS: The P-Vine's Birthday Today!!!... From: Bobert Date: 19 Nov 06 - 09:29 AM Good Morning EVERYONE who took time to reply to the humble fact that I made an appearance on Nov. 18 19...... (Just keep usin' Sheido and drink tons of water!!!) I was sort of concerned that Bob referred to you guys as "knotheads" until he reminded me that I used to call a few of my miscreant boy-students that when they were being goofy in class. So I guess it was a term of my-way-or-the-highway endearment??? Thank you for your sweet comments which, amazingly, were pretty true about my hyper-spouse! I was stunned to walk out and see that gorgeous Welcome rooster piece of metal...Really blew me away and I'm still wandering out to check him out over and over, planning what to plant under his feet and wondering where the ferocious wind won't knock him "galley-west" as my grandfather used to say. So, yes, we had an abbreviated lunch at Olive Garden (the only good restaurant on the way to DC!!!) and after 2 hours of listening to those blues folks play the same riff to every single tune, I got up and grabbed a tamborine and hit a few licks to cure my own boredom. Bob said it lightens it up some. Hurrah!!! Pretty cool B-day. Think I'll go check out that rooster again on the way to the sink....only about 24 lbs. of collards to wash!!!!! Stay safe, P-Vine (Eve) PS: My first ever note from Scotland. How Cool!!! Thanks. P |

The one at the Manassas house will live forever in my memory. Rita F |
