Subject: BS: BBC Reith Lectures From: Aethelric Date: 09 Dec 25 - 05:32 AM Has anyone listened to the Reith Lectures this year. They are very thought provoking. I don't think they are available directly from the BBC oiutside the UK, but here are a couple of links where they can be found On apple podcasts on spotify |

Subject: RE: BS: BBC Reith Lectures From: Aethelric Date: 09 Dec 25 - 12:56 PM I thought the BBC had switched off access outside the UK. Here is a quote from the first lecture: "If America resembles the fall of Rome, spectacular and vulgar, then Europe is reliving the slow death of Venice. One empire collapses in flames, the other sinks in silence. One is consumed by fire, the other lost in fog." I can post a link to the transcripts in PDF form if anyone wants. |
