Question: Do right brain and left brain activity govern or affect our views?

How valid these studies are, I don't know, but they're kind of fun. My results said, Left Brain: 9; Right Brain: 10. Are they trying to have it both ways?

6 and 6..why don't numbers add up same for each of us.

It is not good if you have mixed dominance if you are not stronlgy one or the other..brain gets confused..spatial problems etc..which I have severely...also I know other people can think and talk at the same time but I can't...mg

As for a balance between the two, mg, I shouldn't think that would be a big problem. Should be able to perceive and maybe understand where others are coming from. Unless it leads to a sense of superiority!

Yes, I read the instructions thoroughly - but only the first time I do something....
I also follow my intuition, which I find to be fairly accurate. So, am I a liberal or conservative? I've always called myself a "radical moderate."

I also wonder why we don't all have the same total. I'd be curious to see the scoring rubric.

There were a few questions that were difficult to answer. The one about there being two sides to every story, for instance. I think there are usually more than two sides so should I answer no? I think a no would be interpreted as me thinking there is only one true way to view an issue but maybe not. It's just too confusing.

I don't think it's a very good test. There are a number of questions on it that I'd rather not answer either yes OR no to. Anyway, I came out with 8 on one side, 9 on the other. That either means I'm nicely balanced between Left and Right Brain...or it means the test is no good. ;-)

I had Igor (pronounce EYE-gor) run out to the local BRAINS {backward R} US to pick up a wide assortment of brains. I have been running tests all afternoon. So far I have conclude only this: Disembodied brains do surprisingly poorly on this test.

As people in the arts, I would have guessed that most of us would be right brain dominant.

mg, our lower totals must mean there is a mass of undifferentiated gray matter between our right and left hemispheres. Either that, or a rather large pocket of air:^)

Ebbie, what I most note is the caveat at the end of the article.

I would expect song writers (a la Peace), and composers to be significantly more right-brained than left-brained. I would expect that the many musicians who do not 'create' their own lyrics and music (or at least, not much) to draw more evenly from both hemispheres. Think of the number of scientists, engineers and mathematicians who play musical instruments. Regarding mathematicians, the manipulation of hard data and arithmatic aspects of math are pretty exclusively in the domain of the left brain. However, the best and most brilliant of theorists in math and the many branches of physics also rely heavily on insight and intuition, which are firmly seated in the right brain. (would they have scores like Right Brain 2000, Left Brain 2050?)

Bobert, if you are curious, neither of the tests took long to come up on dialup.

I got right brain, 12, left brain, 9.
Then I got left brain 48%, right brain 46%

Now I'm about 86% confused.   

Does anyone actually know which way he turns his head when he answers a question? My wife wasn't here to tell me which I do or don't.

About looking to the left or the right when I'm answering a question, Dean, I know that I cock my right ear, never the left (although I don't know that my hearing is different). Anyway, that means to me that I look to the left, i.e. presenting my right ear.

I think the two 'turn head right or left' questions cancelled out, since I said no to both, I got L8 and R6. I'm an artist and I hate being organised. I don't think it's a very good test. Then, I don't think the 'right brain left brain' personality stuff is much more than nonsense. Yes the brain specialises, side to side, but I think it has little to do with personality or talent.
