Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Need title and lyrics From: Joe Offer Date: 02 Jun 00 - 01:35 AM Hi,Cookie - I wish you had given a more specific title to your thread, since this thread title is just like the one next to it on the menu. You're better off using a distinctive pharase from the song as title for your thread. But since you started the thread, we may as well give it a try and see if somebody comes up with an answer. Can you tell us what kind of song i is (folk, country, or what), and maybe where you heard it? I checked the usual pop and country sites for songs with the term "grocery clerk" in them, and came up with nothing close to what you describe. I have a feeling we're not going to find this one. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: Lyr Add: EVER-LOVIN' FINGERS (Jimmy Bowen) From: Jim Dixon Date: 23 Nov 07 - 10:51 PM What a bizarre song! Copied from http://www.top40db.net/Lyrics/?SongID=57275&By=Genre&Match=Rockabilly EVER-LOVIN' FINGERS by Jimmy Bowen I thought I had me a woman, a woman that would be true. I thought that after I married, her love would always be true; But the first thing I knew, when my back was turned, Got my ever-lovin' fingers burned. Well, I came home one evening from work. I'm just a lowly grocery clerk. My woman thinks that I should be more. Thinks I should own that whole darn store. Don't trust a yellow-haired woman; don't trust her if her hair is brown. Don't trust any kind of woman; she'll always let you down. And the first thing you knew, when your back is turned, Get your ever-loving fingers burned. |
