Subject: RE: In memoriam Bob Johnson (Steeleye Span) From: StephenH Date: 16 Dec 23 - 01:41 PM I was in my late teens when "Below the Salt" and "Parcel of Rogues" came out. The sound enthralled and captivated me and Bob Johnson's guitar and arrangements were certainly a large part of it. I quite liked "The King of Elfland's Daughter", also. I guess it's par for the course to say that someone is "underrated", but I really thought that this was the case with Bob Johnson's guitar work. Anyway, many thanks for all the pleasure and inspiration. R.I.P |

Subject: RE: 2023 Obit: Bob Johnson (Steeleye Span) From: Dave the Gnome Date: 17 Dec 23 - 08:44 AM The latest Steelye tour and album is named for Bob's original song "The Green Man" and Maddie mentioned him a few times at the concert I saw in Ilkley. I wonder if the band knew he was on his way out? Condolonces to his family and loved ones. The world is certainly a poorer place without talent like his |
