We do! The Giant Squid only checks into the Tavern and there just ain't many little squids running around the Cafe. If more squids don't start showing up I'll have to start jiggin' for them. And why not? Squids are cute and cuddly and more loyal to you than, say, a cat.

The best supply of flourescent foot-long squids I've found are in a tackle shop in Shelburne, Nova Scotia. They're designed for tuna jigs but they make great as party favors, and in a pinch could be used as a condom.

Squid are decapods not octopods -- mostly.

I prefer to collect anatomically correct (moreor less) non-edible squid for my collection. Bait squid (also made out of rubber-like substance) have fringes rather than tentacles. But I've got some in my collection (thanks, Sins) along with cuttlefish, a couple octopus, and a lot of squid ranging from very realistic rubber ones, rhinestoned squid jewelry, ceramic chopstick rests, and, of course, a wonderful kitchen whisk that not only looks really cool sitting on the shelf, but is the BEST whisk I've ever used. Also have a lovely carved wooden netsuke thanks to my sister and a neat squid writing implement as well. Oh, and silver squid earrings.

Why doesn't anyone make squid lawn ornaments?!? Yard squid!

The footstool is an octopus, alas. I also have a crab footstool and a lobster one. (All acquired at the same wonderful yardsale.)

As for eating, I love anchovies (or "sewer trout" as we lovingly refer to them as), oysters (or "sea phlegm" colloquially) AND squid cooked or marinated any which way.
