Subject: RE: BS: Silly Secret Santa Signals - 2005 From: GUEST,Slightly Perplexed Santa to the Stunning Sti Date: 06 Nov 05 - 07:08 AM Hmm, those FastFairies seem to be taking their time, should I rescind their contract? Well, maybe there are a touch tardy, just hope they remember what they're supposed to be doing. If they had any brains they'd be in a better job. How did the paperclips project go, found any yet? |

Subject: RE: BS: Silly Secret Santa Signals - 2005 From: Stilly River Sage Date: 06 Nov 05 - 10:42 AM Sorry, dear, dearest, Secret Santa, I've been swamped and knew I'd have to reread the last couple of hundred posts to this thread before I posted. I can safely pre-date number6's gleeful announcement of receiving a package--I received 3, 2 of them in the week before Halloween! And a postcard (that was a terrific clue, by the way--I'm sure that there is only one Mudcatter who lives within 50 miles of London, right?) I hesitated to mention it until after Halloween, not wanting to upset the trick-or-treat fun of so many of our dear kind Mudcat friends. Now the yule season is only a bit ahead of Thanksgiving (here in the U.S.) and if the weather will ever cool off it will actually FEEL like the holidays are approaching! And here at our house we already have a tidy little stack of packages next to the fireplace. The best time of year to go out looking for these mapped cache locations is soon--once we have our first frost much of the greenery will vanish, and the poison ivy will drop it's noxious leaves, and the search will be a pleasant one. We're looking forward to it! We peaked in the first package, and saw wrapping paper, so unless we learn otherwise, will leave the others in their covers and open them when we open the rest of our gifts. Santa, give me another clue, please. Are you listed in any of the Mudcat photo or member lists? Do you spend more time above or below the line? Have you ever attempted to read the Mother of All BS thread? Or posted to it? SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: Silly Secret Santa Signals - 2005 From: GUEST,moonglowhasasantadotcom Date: 06 Nov 05 - 11:44 AM The elves are having a go at me - apparently I'm supposed to be giving you clues to my identity here. If I tell you that I'm a large man with a white beard who lives somewhere North of you, will that help? P.S. You're supposed to guess now. |
Subject: RE: BS: Silly Secret Santa Signals - 2005 From: GUEST,Satisfied Santa to the Splendiforous Stilly Date: 06 Nov 05 - 12:29 PM Many thanks for your speedy reply Dear Santee! FastFairies off the hook, but now they can rest till next year. Wrapping paper? Outer transit containers can be opened - there may be something in there you can enjoy now as was intended. Glad you're looking forward to searching after the First Frost, not sure that we have Poison Ivy here, certainly never considered it. Mind you, our Nettles, Brambles & Mud are worth avoioding here, I only play that game in fair weather. Mother of all thread? No, never attempted that one - it grew to giant size before I noticed it, so I guess you can cross all those involved off your Guess List. Members List, yes, I'm in there like all good Santas should be - that helps with the clues. There are only a few threads below the line I check - this, the Christmas Tavern when it's open (met you there BTW, most kind) and a few others. Mostly occupied with festivals, clubs, songs & singers - but one of those parcels should point you in that direction. Think it's a FastFairy one, but may be that overweight SlowGnome one. Goodness, see all these clues, you've plenty now - Good Luck! |

Subject: RE: BS: Silly Secret Santa Signals - 2005 From: Dave'sWife Date: 11 Nov 05 - 12:37 AM OK - As some Mudcatters know, I just this night inhreited about 800 CDs from my husband's co-worker. he uplodaed all his music to dgital sources. i even managed to get some Folk Stuff! So, I shall be more specific. I really, really, really want a tape or CD that has that song "Beatnik prevert don't talk that way to me" on it. I think Hildebrandt wrote it but I'm not sure. I read the thread with that as the title and formed an attachment to the mere idea of the song. I would also dearly love anything by Alaska Mike. As far as my musical tastes go - they are quite varied. I do not own any June Tabor CDs despite really loving her voice. I am partial to women with deep voices and male baritones. I say that even though I have a nearly complete collection of Emmylou harris CDs (she's a mezzo-Soprano). I love close harmonies and sad fiddles. Hope that helps. |
