Subject: Mudcat Baby on the Way!!!!!!!!!!! From: Max Date: 28 Jan 03 - 12:44 AM Emily and I went in around midnight to beg for them to induce, and they did. Its gonna go slow, I'll bet tomorrow night some time, at best. I'm going to the back the hospital now, so I'll be out of touch for a while. I'll be in touch with Pene Azul, so he'll keep you informed. Later. |

Subject: RE: Mudcat Baby on the Way!!!!!!!!!!! From: catspaw49 Date: 28 Jan 03 - 01:19 AM Obviously you didn't try my combo method on the other thread........A little sex, a little castor oil, one of those Preggo Pizzas, and Emily carrying you around all day..........Oh well, if you want to go with the medical method, I suppose it works but I think the natural methods we all suggested were best..............Even with the "Ani" thing, I hope it's a girl..........Actually though, Taj Lightning Beaverboy Spiegel will give me a lot more to work with............. Subject: RE: Mudcat Baby on the Way!!!!!!!!!!! From: BlueJay Date: 28 Jan 03 - 03:19 AM What Katsaid, Max- don't forget to breathe. Believe me, it's real easy to get so caught up in these things. When my wife was in labor with my first child, they decided to do a blood test. Sticking a needle into someone's arm and watching the tube fill with blood was entirely foreign to me at the time. What with the emotions and all, I actually fainted. I felt like an idiot. Here they were, supposed to be helping my wife in labor, and they had to instead devote their attention to me, collapsed on the floor. It really is an intense experience. Enjoy! BlueJay |

Subject: RE: Mudcat Baby on the Way!!!!!!!!!!! From: harpgirl Date: 28 Jan 03 - 09:06 AM A song for the Spiegal's Audrey and Marvin by Larry Doyle (or Max and Emily) Max and Emily had a terrible fight He hit her with a dishrag She hit him with a right I arrived in time to stop a flyin ash try When I got my senses, here's all I could say... I'll never get married, swear to god I never will Guess I'll be a hermit, live on top a hill Eat a lot of beans, grow hairy legs And drink whiskey for a thrill I'll never get married Swear to god I never will Now don't misunderstand me, or think I'm all alone I've got a man who loves me and he calls me on the phone He says he is true but the truth is very plain When he's with his wife, he tells her the same. Chorus again Now bring me a stack of bibles, that reach up to the sky With god as my witness, if I'm found to lie May all my little kids that my man and I do bear Have horns on their heads and feathers instead of hair! I'll never get married swear to god I'll never will Guess I'll be a hermit, live on top a hill Eat a lot beans, grow hairy legs, and drink whiskey for a thrill I'll never get married ( more than five or six times) Swear to God I never will! |

Subject: RE: Mudcat Baby on the Way!!!!!!!!!!! From: katlaughing Date: 28 Jan 03 - 02:09 PM I think they all just come in their own good time. My first was early and labour was short, but intense on my lower back. Second came on the appointed day, with little labour, in 30 minutes. Third was way too early, long, hard lower back pain labour, then came before the docs were ready, I was still in the labour room. She has always done things her way! I later found out it was the way they came out which put so much intense pain on my lower back and it was related to the way I am built.:-) |

Subject: RE: Mudcat Baby on the Way!!!!!!!!!!! From: Max Date: 28 Jan 03 - 02:41 PM We're half way there. I just ran home (we're only a few blocks from the hospital) to check on the cats (2 real, 1 virtual) and get some lunch. Sure enough, it is back labor. They gave her an epidoral around noon, and are now dripping the petosin to kick up the contractions a notch. She's in a much better mood now. She's about 5cm dialated, and moving about 1cm per hour. Funny thing, I was reading a 1972 issue of Sing Out magazine, the one right after Gary Davis died, when the medicine man came in. He asked why I was reading such an old magazine and if I'm famous or something. Couldn't for the life of him figure out why I would read such a silly old Folk magazine. So I told him that Yes, I am famous. Thanks for all the kind words and stuff. I'll tell Emily she has the whole world rooting for her. I'll call Pene as soon as we have a new mudkitten to tell you all about it. Looks like sometime tonight. Later. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Baby on the Way!!!!!!!!!!! From: Morticia Date: 28 Jan 03 - 02:48 PM Actually Max, if you ask Emily to hang on a while the baby will be born on my birthday....( ducks and runs for cover) |
Subject: RE: Mudcat Baby on the Way!!!!!!!!!!! From: Stilly River Sage Date: 28 Jan 03 - 02:50 PM Max, maybe something therapeutic would help her through that kind of labor. Take a few phone books from very large cities to let her rip with her bare hands during each contraction. ;-) You might ask if a really firm massage of her lower back would help--but be prepared to move out of the way quickly if it doesn't. Good luck! |
