Hey LTS...I got Connery here he's bound (handcuffed even) and gagged, do you still want him flung on your doorstep?

Send him over Amergin... but don't fling him too hard, he's not exactly a youngster any more!!!

Will PM chocolate address, that's very kind of you.

The musical 'We will Rock you' was fantastic, I was totally engrossed and my arms and hands ache from so much clapping along.

The real birthday is on Tuesday and I have the ordeal of work to get through... there have been lots of whisperings in corners that stop when I walk past.

Oh, and for those who don't know, 'blat' is a biker term for a good fast ride out for no real reason.

Do you need a reason for a good fast ride out (on a bike, that is!)?

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Liz. Glad you had a great party, shame we had to miss it. Will bring chocolate next time we meet. (Banbury?)

I agree with the statement that Liz the Squeak's big. Is the 40 just a few random numbers, rather like the Hullite 9's ?

. . . . ducking and running for cover.

Kitty - Tom's face when I told him together we make the century, was a picture to behold! See you there.

Thank you all, am presently eating my way through 2 chocolate cakes, 2 tubs of icecream and 9 bars of chocolate! That's what I CALL a birthday treat!

Doesn't feel a whit different than 39, does it. But it's a hellacious excuse to eat chocolate.

Liz,

Congratulations!!! I always thought you were much older than you are. At least 60----maybe 70---or else I'd've come on to you much sooner. Ah, the vagueness of cyberspace. Is it all an illusion? Is this life all an illusion??---------- But now, with me, it's a moot point. I've waited too long. (And now, sad to say, IT is not long enough. Not much can get done when your point gets moot.) Oh, the humanity !!

Have a fine B-day----and many more !

Art

Still 8 bars of chocolate to go! (but only 1 cream cake left)

See? SEE? There are a disproportionate # of birthdays in September, nine months after the Midwinter holidays. People deny it but it's true!

Welcome to perimenopause. It is no big deal, except your hips go south and spread, you get jowly, you need "moisturizer," and suddenly the wrinkles are no joke.

But 40 itself?? nothing.

from one chocaholic to another,
you are smarter than you ever were,
and you know everything the sweet young things do, and much more,

MA

My hips went south years ago - I have an hourglass figure, it's just that most of the sand is at the bottom.

Found a chocolate cake in the cupboard today, we forgot to eat it last week at the party. Ho hum....

Midwinter holidays - yes, it's usually a combination of cold weather or getting drunk over Christmas/New year that does it. I'm a direct result of the long cold winter of '63/'64. My god-daughter is a New Years' eve 'ritual' result.

October has a lot of birthdays for much the same reason.

I've been celebrating by going to 3 rock gigs in a week!

Happy Birthday, Squeak!!!!

Hi Liz!

Sorry you couldn't make Tom's do last night. I hope Paul's handed over the belated card. Also hope you enjoy the following from Evelyn Trapp:

Today is International Very Good Looking Damn Smart Woman's Day, so please send this message to someone you think fits this description.

Motto to live by ..."Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand - strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride! "

I hope Champagne Carol gets this too!

Love

Kitty

Oh, that's my motto!! I shall print it out and stamp it all over the place!

I got the card thanks, and sorry I missed the party.
