Subject: BS: A Happy New Year from Spaw From: catspaw49 Date: 31 Dec 05 - 03:35 PM Sorry I haven't been around much since coming home but this last one took a lot out of me and strength-wise I am just now starting to really come back. On the other hand as I do begin to feel better, it is a stronger and better feeling than I have had in many years. I am sleeping better and longer than I have in ages and I'm doing a sleep apnea study in Feb to see if we might increase even this as well. So much for apologies............. Once again I have to send a giant thanks to all of you for your thoughts and kind words as they surely made a difference. Some of you I am contacting over the next few weeks for a few private words of thanks for acts over, above, and beyond. And now........ HAPPY NEW YEARto one and all. We're doing very little for the eve but will be having a great day tomorrow with Connie and Wayne. We look forward to a good year and one of challenge for both Karen and myself. I want to start some new exercise and walking rehabs and Karen will join in after she recovers from her own surgery coming up on January 9. Yep......It has taken a year of dancing through hoops and testing but Karen will be having Bariactric by-pass surgery. She is having the complete surgical procedure as opposed to the laproscopic because although the initial operation takes a bit more rehab time, the success rate and lack of problems later makes this a better option. We really believe that this will give Karen her life back in many ways and assure our kids will have an "active" mother, or indeed, a mother at all........yeah, it's that serious. So 2006 holds some great things for us and I can only hope it does for you as well. The best of all things to you and yours from Karen and I for the best of all New Years. Spaw |

Subject: RE: BS: A Happy New Year from Spaw From: wysiwyg Date: 31 Dec 05 - 03:55 PM Pat, it's great to hear from you; how sweet (yeah, SWEET) that you are thinking of us, when things are so intense for you all right there in your own lives. I can strongly recommend aquatic exercise to you both. Gentle, effective, supportive, and responsive. Not swimming and not water aeroibics-- water yoga or a similar program called Ai Chi. Have tapes and book to lend. Just say the word. I'd also like to put Karen on the Prayer Chain list for her surgery and recovery.... OK? And how I wish I was nearby enough to lend a hand with the boys! Me and Hardi! Yeah, we'd teach them a coupla new bad words for ya.... :~) Much love, ~Susan PS, Our #1 son and his wife will move into Ohio next week, after 6 years as a Navy nuke and 2 years in Hawaii. I'm putting you on the itinerary this time, when we head for Oak Harbor to see him. Why, you're practially on the way-- and surely I won't get lost again! |

Subject: RE: BS: A Happy New Year from Spaw From: Dave Swan Date: 31 Dec 05 - 09:50 PM TO: P. Patterson, Partner, LFPS Layabouts for Hire FROM: Personnel Department RE: Updates to your file ______________________________________________________________________ As you were unable to attend the last board meeting of Lane, Fielding, Patterson & Swan, Layabouts for Hire (and at Large) LLC, I have been directed to forward these excerpts from the minutes of the meeting. I have done my best to divine the meaning of the notes, but as you can imagine, the Cheetos smears, beer stains and dog food crumbs have made it difficult. It appears as though a new service is to be offered by LFPS, and before you are cleared to return to full duty, the risk management department requires that you attend training in order to safely perform the Supine Lying And Chair Kicking Entry, Recliner (SLACKER) in which the LFPS leisure service consultant launches himself laterally toward the recliner (placed within 40" of a 27" TV to comply with training standards) clearing the near side arm rest and landing in the chair without 1. jarring the remote control sufficiently to change the channel or 2. spilling his beer or Corn Nuts. Before full compression of the seat cusion is achieved, the consultant is required to retract the leg rest extension handle, throw his weight backward, and fully deploy the leg rest. Timing ends when a full, fruity, flatulent noise is audible in the testing area. This may be achieved by the movement of sweat pants across Naugahyde or organic means. Organic noises are encouraged, as higher billing rates apply. It is also noted that you are the winner of this year's Fielding-Like And That's Our Ultimate Tribute (FLAT OUT) award for the least work done. Please feel free to leave a voice mail if there's any less we can do for you. Inanimately yours, Lester Ennui LFPS Personnel Department "At LFPS, it's the least we can do" |
