This is not really posted as a political discussion, but more about the presentation of the policies by the different leaders.
I was always told that as a Salesman you never mention the opposition, because it is a sign of weakness, it is negative as you cannot take people as idiots and by mentioning the opposition you are giving their policies and not your own.
Margaret Thatcher , whatever you thought of her politics was a master (or should that be Mistress)of the art of putting over her policies, if the interviewer mentioned the opposition she would say she was not interested in the opposition her policies were and then she would list them one by one.
Listening to Gordon Brown this evening all he could do was mention the Conservatives , He is showing that He is scared by his negative attitude.
I would be interested if you share my views on this subject.

Interesting. In our country the Tea Party have no platform to put forward, only reactions to the current president and his policies. So that's what they talk about.

The Conservatives are exactly the same - but I suppose when you have two parties which are so similar, neither can develop a strong enough USP, so all each can do is piss over the fence.

The current trend is to keep your policies a secret and then nobody can criticize them, A U turn is then easy as they can say it was their policy all along.
