Though this was probably intended to be an allegory for the Christ-child's birth, it seems appropriate for Solstice, as it is the time which reminds us, after the longest night of the year, that Spring is coming:

The Rose-Tree

Do you know of a recorded version of this (it being Praetorius), kat?
WELCOME BACK, CP, HOW WAS YOUR TIME IN SPACE? We put your face on the milk cartons, and the Milk Marketing Board had to pull them off after 3 days because of the complaints. So we just sat in darkness and hoped.

The only knowledge I have of this song is the book mentioned. I can scan in the music and email it to you, if you'd like, or fax it.

Hi, kat, I was really just fishing for a good recording, not the music. I have some Praetorius' recordings somewhere, so I will check it out on my own time.

Actually, the Milk Board was most upset by the belief of buyers that they had bought possum milk instead, which resulted in many trips to the bathroom....
