Look out people, this grabbing govt. want to introduce a new tax for the motorist. The proposal is that all DVLA registered vehicles (inc. those not used on the road, pre -73, SORN reg or undergoing restoration) will be subject to a £4.50 annual fee. This is to help cover the costs of issuing photo licences to UK drivers, as requierd by the EU.
POINT: We already pay 18 odd quid for a photo licence.
POINT: If the EU want British drivers to have photo licences, then the EU should pay.
POINT: What's the betting that the £4.50 will increase to £5.50, then £7.50, then £10 . . . . . .
POINT: The original vehicle registration tax has increased to £38.

They can't get enough out of you, can they?

POINT: You can't get anywhere on our roads because they're clogged up with too many effin' cars!
POINT: Our atmosphere is being clogged up with nasties being kicked out in exhaust fumes.
POINT: Perhaps they should tax motorists even more heavily and use what they collect to rebuild the railways that those tory pillocks destroyed in 1963, and thereby get some of the traffic off the roads.

Makes sense, n'est ce pas?

I love my 1937 Austin 7, no road tax, cheap classic insurance etc, but I mustn't gloat ;~)
