Subject: Bohemian Rhapsody;Searching For Artist From: Dharmabum Date: 08 Oct 05 - 08:51 AM A few years back, while attending the Falcon Ridge festival in N.Y. I heard this version of the Queen song,Bohemian Rhapsody, played on two classical guitars. No lyrics, just the tune. As it was being played over the p.a. between sets,I asked the guy running the sound who the artists were. He told me it was just a mixed tape they had given him to play between sets & had no list of the artists on the tape. This was maybe 6 or 7 years ago,& it's always been in the back of my mind to track down this version/performers of B.R. Anyone here familiar with the song of which I speak? Thanks D.B. |
Subject: RE: Bohemian Rhapsody;Searching For Artist From: katlaughing Date: 08 Oct 05 - 09:40 PM I doubt if this is it, but I did find the following site which lists rare(ish) info on different Queen songs, including Bohemian Rhapsody. On one of the other pages there was something about a mostly instrumental compilation, but didn't mention that song. Good luck! |
Subject: RE: Bohemian Rhapsody;Searching For Artist From: Dharmabum Date: 08 Oct 05 - 10:41 PM Thanks Kat, I did some searching & it looks as if the artists I've been searching for are the California Guitar Trio;Bert Lams,Paul Richards & Hideyo Moriya. The album is titled "Rocks the West". I haven't had a chance to listen to any sound clips yet,but it looks like some interesting music. Thanks D.B. |
Subject: RE: Bohemian Rhapsody;Searching For Artist From: Den Date: 09 Oct 05 - 08:35 PM If you liked that version of Bohemian Rhapsody Dharmabum, you may also like the version by Frankie Gavin on the DeDannan CD Hibernian Rhapsody. I think its very clever. He even does the heavy bit near the end. |
Subject: RE: Bohemian Rhapsody;Searching For Artist From: open mike Date: 09 Oct 05 - 09:36 PM is the bohemian rhapsody the one that was the sound track to a cartoon where a bunch of animals were in a construction crew? The Octopus was a brick layer and spread the mortar with one arm while setting bricks with all the others... maybe that was the Hungarian rhapsody.. |

Subject: RE: Bohemian Rhapsody;Searching For Artist From: M.Ted Date: 10 Oct 05 - 06:08 PM I'm a bit late to help, DB--Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the better known recordings by the California Guitar Trio, who do slightly tongue in cheek instrumentals of a great many pop tunes, and it is always great to play their stuff in the background at a party or dinner, or some such, and wait for the double takes--I've been hearing them on the radio more often--so maybe the music world is starting to swing back around-- |
