In other words were fucked unless you have years to wait and see if the Supreme Court will hear your case, if ever. They also ruled that parents may remove their child from any school that has any book or curriculum that raises any ideological disagreements about gay lifestyle or evolution or science or any other subject. Predictions are OK as well as prescience but the word prophet can crucify. However, Kahlil Gibran used the word Prophet with distinction. I wonder if he was a Sufi. |

They are uninformed and uninspired. They are full of the exact same formulations of ad hominem sourcing that TRMP is full of. They are part and parcel of the overall lowering of the bar of discourse that is spreading to all political purveyors of the present time. Although there is evidence for more self inspiration in the genesis of the TRMP; far richer source for his behavior and attitudes can be found in the career and association between TRMP and Roy Cohn. |

Not everyone thinks it’s funny. White House officials say their digital strategy is designed to grab attention and show that the president is delivering on his immigration promises. (Sarah L. Voisin/The Washington Post) By Drew Harwell The White House has posted immigrant arrest and deportation videos onto X with song lyrics like “ice, ice, baby” and “hey, hey, goodbye.” The Department of Homeland Security posted a meme on Instagram showing Uncle Sam urging Americans to report all “foreign invaders.” And Vice President JD Vance, told he could do the “funniest thing ever” by deporting a fashion writer who had criticized his clothing choices, responded with a movie clip of Jack Nicholson, nodding and smiling. The Trump administration is increasingly playing its policy of mass deportation for laughs, pushing memes and jokes about the nationwide immigration crackdown to millions of Americans online. White House officials have said their digital strategy is designed to show that President Donald Trump is delivering on his immigration promises in an entertaining, attention-grabbing way. He now posts that ICE should concentrate on deporting the US citizen illegal children. |

Subject: RE: Convicted felon US 47 Pres /Musk coup 2 From: Donuel Date: 01 Jul 25 - 05:41 AM Objectively, Buckley was not a pro lynching racist. Using his own reasoning, I would say QAnon followers are not civilized. Buckley himself had developed two arguments against civil rights, both of which were little more than disguised racism, both of which led the line at National Review. The first emerged early in his career. Since the 1950s, Buckley had argued that civil rights should be opposed not because black people were biologically inferior to white people, but because they were not yet “civilized” enough to take part in democratic government. Or, as Buckley put it in 1959, “There are no scientific grounds for assuming congenital Negro disabilities. The problem is not biological, but cultural and educational.” He managed to change his mind somewhat over time, to his credit. Who is using invectives is in the mind of the beholder. Facts and truth are required in a democracy. It took many intermediaries to go from Buckley to Trump. I could list several but choosing a starting point is only arbitrary. |

Your disgusting invective of 30 Jun 25 - 04:11 PM seems to pass with other folks here, not to mention the mod. To me it's a sign of collapse. Other people are already saying what you are trying to say and saying it better. I think you should be called out for your lapse of language, but I will also call you out as the last person here to critique William F. Buckley and trying to involve him in some cabal of rightism leading to the present impasse. It's diversionary and ludicrous. Which IMO sums you up. |

Subject: RE: Convicted felon US 47 Pres /Musk coup 2 From: Donuel Date: 01 Jul 25 - 04:26 PM At least I know what I am talking about. Whatever problems literacy plays in social media, we should try to stick to the issues and questions that a thread deserves. Study and education will serve you better than emotional discourses that merely amplify your feedback loops of animosity and anxiety unrelated to me. When a long-held belief system is challenged, it's better to remain objective. Some people sadly find it impossible to do. ICE deportations are now about to be turbocharged with the passing of the Trump bill in the Senate. Some Seniors will be thrown out of assisted living, rural hospitals will close, and 3.5 trillion dollars is being borrowed to give to the 1% via a tax break. |
