Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Rapparee Date: 26 Jul 06 - 03:29 PM Hey, I'm back! Diccha miss me? I also brought back the gin, and there's a truckload of Zenner's apple sausages coming that just ask to be barbecued as well as a truckload of fresh Northwest raspberries. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 26 Jul 06 - 04:41 PM Barbequed raspberries??? It's not so much the size that matters, I just find the bigger ones have more stamina and can carry bigger jugs of margheuritas. LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: coldjam Date: 26 Jul 06 - 05:01 PM It's not that I don't like barbeque Raspberries, it's just that they keep falling through the grill... |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: MMario Date: 27 Jul 06 - 08:59 AM Liz, marinate the raspberries in tequila, ginger and lime, then put on a very hot grill just long enough to caramelize a bit and heat through. yummmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!! (easier to do on a grill pan then an actual grill) |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Stilly River Sage Date: 27 Jul 06 - 11:18 AM Now that sounds good! I took a bread pudding to a potluck one time and it seemed so "ordinary" (though I love it just the way it is) that I looked around and found a recipe for melba sauce. To die for over the top of bread pudding! |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Rapparee Date: 27 Jul 06 - 11:32 AM I have a GREAT recipe for a bourbon sauce for bread pudding. Unfortunately, it's at home. Mash the raspberries, add honey, spread on warm bread that's buttered with good butter. Or...well, use your imagination. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: MMario Date: 27 Jul 06 - 11:36 AM sounds good Rapaire - but it doesn't sound like a bourbon sauce; even using my imagination. Shouldn't a bourbon sauce have BOURBON? even a little? or was b*u*t*t*e*r a typo for b*o*u*r*b*o*n? |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Stilly River Sage Date: 27 Jul 06 - 12:29 PM Perhaps the bourbon's for the cook. Doesn't go in the sauce, just the hired help! :) |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: John MacKenzie Date: 28 Jul 06 - 04:04 PM This should be rivetting! |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: frogprince Date: 28 Jul 06 - 04:07 PM Honest, I'm not lookin' to get "riveted" to anybody. If my wife's crazy work schedule gave her a chance to be here right now, she would be in there with me in no time. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: John MacKenzie Date: 28 Jul 06 - 04:33 PM Hmm, must be a married couples thing. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 28 Jul 06 - 05:30 PM Ah.. this is a use of the phrase 'married couples thing' that I was previously unaware of..... Manitas nearly died of shock the first time I got in the bath with him..... not used to mixed bathing, poor boy. LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Stilly River Sage Date: 28 Jul 06 - 09:02 PM Bernadette Peters has been compared with a Gibson Girl. Example one Example two Maybe she would like to join the barbecue? Or would it put someone's nose out of joint? |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 29 Jul 06 - 05:04 AM By Gaw, that second one has broad shoulders.. sure she's in the right thread? Whatever, shoulders like that, she can take on the Squid in the jello pit. I think I need another drinkiepoos. LTS |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 30 Jul 06 - 10:33 AM And you had a jolly time? Was the present useful? Another (nearly) 6 weeks and it's our 16th..... Don't get that for manslaughter these days... LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: lady penelope Date: 30 Jul 06 - 05:12 PM Having noticed the "Dishwasher safe" notice on the side of the box Parker immediately retracted his initial comment of "Not more bloody glasses for me to wash...." They really are very nice glasses and we'll have to get you round to drink out of them soon! Whilst it's Parker and I's first wedding anniversary, this year was our 10th year handfasting and 17 years we've been together in total! Gluttons fer punishment..... :) Now, where'd I put that burger..... |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Catherine Jayne Date: 30 Jul 06 - 05:18 PM Well Liz and I decided you needed a set of 8 cocktail glasses that all matched....and they are large enough to get a BIG cocktail in them!! It will take Liz a while to say "My slush has run out of Puppy!!" Anyway....where's the GIN??!!! |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: coldjam Date: 30 Jul 06 - 08:46 PM Lady Penelope...dare I ask the meaning of "handfasting"? Ya know, that "squid soup" everyone's been frolicking about in, ought to be about ready to start cooking up about now...I always add a bit of wine to my mine...might help make the squid enjoy the, er, process a bit more... |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: MAG Date: 31 Jul 06 - 03:45 AM Ya know, way back at the beginning of this thread, I was whining about my mental bandleader. I have now quit the band, and am happy as a clam! Have had private decompressions with others in the band (who are also all quitting) with good beer, and feeling out from under in a major way. Congrats to Lady Penelope; love is a wonderful thing. dishwashers are, too. Here is enough Rolling Rock (a U.S. beer I used to drink in college) to go around. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 31 Jul 06 - 04:16 AM There was a thread about handfasting a year or so ago when Micca and CatsPHiddle did it.... but basically it's a public announcement that you and your partner are going to live together as a 'married' couple without the fuss of all that church mularkey, much like 'jumping the broomstick'. I remember Rolling Rock... I think it's what got me into drinking real ale. And yes.. the best birthday present I ever bought myself was a dishwasher. Boy has THAT ever been value for money! Good for you for quitting the band, for making that decision... just don't go filling the gap immediately or you could end up worse off! Take a few months to kick back, consolidate your position and make your own music for yourself. Now hand over those beers and get me another pool boy... there ain't no such thing as Monday morning here! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: MAG Date: 31 Jul 06 - 10:15 AM Monday is my day off; Monday is the last day of the weekend for me. Tanqueray gin and tonic, w/ fresh lime and lots of ice. That't the ticket on a really hot day. Song circle w/ harmonies, anyone? How about "Foggy Foggy Banks?" |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 02 Aug 06 - 01:49 AM THERE WILL BE NO IRONING OF UNDERPANTS IN THIS TAVERN!!! Now get out there, get a drink and get a life! LTS |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: frogprince Date: 02 Aug 06 - 12:41 PM I don't want to iron 'em; I just want to know where somebody hid 'em, in case it ever cools off enough to get out of this aquarium! |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Stilly River Sage Date: 02 Aug 06 - 02:57 PM Oh! You mean those wrinkles on your body aren't your underclothes? Then you've been in that water WAY too long! |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: lady penelope Date: 02 Aug 06 - 03:55 PM Ah MAG you have embraced the way of The Gin Fairy..... :0) Hurrah! I vote we keep the squid and not cook him. I hate calimari anyhoo and the neck rubs really are very good..... Now if y'all will excuse me, I have some serious napping to catch up on...... |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: coldjam Date: 03 Aug 06 - 02:02 AM Ah, thanks for the meaning of "handfasting" Liz...it would be a good term for Squid coupling as well! Maybe better as hand-over-hand-over-handfasting... |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Tavern & Barbeque Summer '06 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 03 Aug 06 - 03:45 PM Ah... that's my week done... plus 4 hours extra just to keep the boss happy.. Celebrating the departure of a family member to the far shores of St Helena this weekend, so may not be here much in body, but rest assured, I will be in spririts! (Mother in law usually has a goodly supply of gin!) LTS |
