Well, it seems we have pulled the wool over the eyes of yet another unsuspecting soul and gotten him signed up in the ranks.

See his demise on the Canuck Mudcat Meet thread here.

Welcome aboard John. Have fun. It's quite a spot.

gnu (from Moncton, New Brunswick)

I've been to Laurel, Maryland. That's where a) George Wallace was shot, and b) my brother worked for the NSA. I think I bought my mother-in-law a TV at the Walmart there, too.

But welcome, welcome, welcome! from lovely Idaho. Currently we're burning off about 1,600 acres but if you come visit sometime we might either put it out or roast some marshmallows. Your choice.

Yeah..............Welcome to the 'Cat.

The place is filled with friendly, helpful, talented, intelligent people. I ain't one of them and neither is gnu but I know they're around 'cause I seen 'em! I don't post quite as much anymore because after ten years I've said everything I have to say in over 20,000 long-winded posts. As I look back over them I realize just how damn little that amounts to, outside of the hot-air factor. Gnu also falls into the "Dumbass" category and I fear you might as well John. If you had any good sense at all you'd turn and run now as far and as fast as you can.

Oh well........I tried to warn ya'........Welcome anyway......

Spaw

He seems to be a man of eminently good sense, having as he does a link to the wonderful band FLAPJACK on his website. That's enough of a reference for me! :~)

I saw Flapjack at Champlain Valley; they had the worst time slot for a gig, 11:00 am Sunday morning! But they managed to fill the tent anyway and drive away a few hangovers with that great bouncy rhythm...

Susan said, "He seems to be a man of eminently good sense, ..."

We'll just see if takes Spaw's advice.

Oh, BTW, Spaw, thanks for the generous accolades. I am glad to be in your "good books." I alsomst said, "on your good side.", but, of course, that is impossible.

Welcome from London, England (or, to be even more parochial, Harrow, Middlesex, where Lord Byron, Anthony Trollope and Winston Churchill went to school)!

Ohmygawd...YOU did the Logdriver's Waltz!? We LOVE that in our household. My 3.5 yr old grandson almost knows it by heart! Welcome, welcome, welcome, indeed, to the Mudcat Cafe. Really glad you found us!

Since you like blue clickies, you oughta check out McGrath of Harlow's song about them: clickety.

Looking forward to seeing you around these parts. Oh, and we can roast marshmallows in Colorado, too!:-)

Wow, Colorado? I'm glad to see "Loggie" manages to make it across the border! I was about to wax eloquent on Wade's songs in general, but I see there are several threads and much info already in existence, such as....

Note...just to avoid any confusion, John didn't write the original Logdriver's...that was Wade Hemsworth...John did the wonderful animation of the song.

...and welcome, John.

Kitty -

"Welcome from London, England (or, to be even more parochial, Harrow, Middlesex, where Lord Byron, Anthony Trollope and Winston Churchill went to school)!"

You didn't know them, did you? They weren't in your class or anything, were they?

Rats! My cookie's been eaten, I can't remember my password, and the e-mail thing hasn't worked, so I'm back to being a guest for a while.

Still, a few folks have suggested that I write down the stories I regale them with after a few beers, so I'm trying to fit that into my schedule. Here's one of the first; I thought a few mudcatters might enjoy it.
