I'm not sure when you think 'we people' voted down participation in the European Union. Other countries have, and most commentators and polls indicate the UK citizens would vote against it given the chance, but that's not quite the same thing as actually voting against it.

Brown is betraying the interests of the British people. Blair issued an order on his way out promising Britain's participation in the European Union even though you people voted that down. And Brown has endorsed Blair's globalization vision. Screw them. They're traitors.

I'm woefully ignorant of the Scottish independence situation. Is that for real? What would become of the Duke of Edinburgh?

Couldn't agree more Brown is "Blairlite", New Labour to the core with no more idea of how to deal with the world's problems than his predecessor.
The most important issue for "Macavity" is how he will survive the next election.
All the machinations attempting to get the Lib Dems on board the New Labour ship are towards that end.

The Nationalist administration in the Scottish assembly, led by Alex Salmond are making themselves visible in the media in a very positive way and if they continue in this vein, will take many seats from New Labour in the Westminster elections.

Without a big majority in Scotland Labour cannot win in the UK!
Scotland will never vote Conservative, so it's goodnight from "Macavity" and independence here we come....Ake

In perhaps the most hypocritical fashion you can imagine, though continuing the Blair like use of newspeak and spin, the next Prime minister is also heavily drawing on British heritage, defence of hard earned freedom and dignified British military history. Yet he is doing so in order to tout prison without trial, biometrics, ID cards and citizen databases.

As Chancellor Brown has introduced more forms of taxation in Britain than anyone who has gone before him, often by stealth. Interest rates have sky rocketed under Brown and continue to rise....

Brown has long been in the pocket of the globalists and has pledged to overhaul the IMF, the World Bank and the UN into a new order through which the "final goal must be to offer a global new deal".
