Hi Lucy from Roger and Annie. Yes, I remember touching it, but that was months ago. I guess you have been too busy worrying about the other Hawker, who we hope is better now. I think a private scan is a good idea - wonder if the musician next door might treat you. I think they cost about £650 pounds. We'll ring you soon.
Lots of love and distance healing xxx

Best of luck. As we age, mysterious lumps appear to be part of the prospect, and usually they aren't serious - may it be so for you.

But the thread title: my dear, I was rather thinking it was about something...er... phlegmmy!

My husband had just such a lump in his calf. We feared cancer, but his surgeon assured us that had it been cancer, he would have been in severe pain. The surgeon thought it would prove to be a benign tumor, but when surgery was actually performed later, it turned out to be a large blood clot -- probably stemming from some injury to that part of his leg that he had long since forgotten about.

A possibility for you?

It was easy to remove, and the only worry was what would have happened had it started to break up -- which thank God it hadn't.

Egg-zacketlee, Spaw. Laughter is the best medicine!

Lucy, I am giving thanks for a quick and benign resolution of this for you, for the highest good of all concerned. (And, that means the folks who schedule the MRIs, too! May it be their highest good to get you in there NOW!*bg*)

Got all my good thoughts Lucy! Don't worry anymore than is absolutely necessary 'cause it don't do ya' no good. Have a laugh instead.....or at least try. I should have been dead ten years ago but this place, a great wife, and a warped sense of humor, have kicked ass over whatever else was going on.

Transient Ischaemic Attack - a mini stroke I have a very small part of my left frontal lobe missing as it was starved of blood by a tiny clot. it coased a loss o inteligable speech for a few minutes and in the longer term I have occasional trouble finding the right word, though most of the time I'm OK, its when I am tired it is more noticable, and I lost the use of my hands, they felt like they had pork sausages for fingers and I could not pick things up for a couple of days. playing the harp helped get them moving. Its like a warning and Yes I did take heed. Have lost almost a stone since beginning of July, which will help when they cut the lump out too.
I feel lucky, lets hope I'm right!
Cheers, Lucy

What's a TIA, Lucy? (I first wrote "Lucky"- good omen, don't you think?)

Anyway, I wish you the best of possible outcomes.

Hi, Some of you who were at the Bude Folk festival in may were there when I discovered a large lump on my thigh. After leaving it for a few weeks to see if it went away, I visited my doctor, who, I thought, would suggest that it was a lipoma (fatty lump). Apparently it was too deep for a lipoma, is not a knot in the muscle and an Orthopaedics specialist has ruled out it being connected to my knee, hip (arthritis) and achiles problems associated with that leg. I have been x-rayed, and am now waiting for an MRI scan and some blood tests. I have been referred to another hospital with a unit that deals with lumps and have been told that it will be removed, as it is so large. its about 3" in diameter. It is not painful and I am not at present too worried. I will keep you posted as to what happens next, though when I had a TIA last year, it took 7 months to get the MRI scan done, and I only found out for sure that it was a TIA when I finally got the results in July (14 months after) !!!!!
Dont hold your breath!
Cheers, lucy
