Is it the singing cowboys we have to thank for the plectrum pocket on the right hand side of jeans?

Were they consulted at the design stage do you think?

The only problem with the design, is that when you forget to take them out they tend to come out of the pocket in the wash and your favourites seem to go missing, any suggestions?

THAT'S WHAT IT IS FOR!??? I always thought it was for a watch, you know pocket watch! But it never seemed to be the right size. Thanks, Sham, now I know why!

What was that one about someone asking the cowboy why he dressed as he did...
He said, "Well, I wear these cowboy boots to keep my feet protected from the saddle and the rattlers and the mud; I wear chaps to protect my legs from the thistles as I ride the range; I wear a vest with a little pocket for my chewin tobacco; and I wear the bandana to protect me from breathin all the dust out on the range."
"But why do you wear a baseball hat?
"Oh, I wear that so no one thinks I'm a truck driver."

Did you hear about the brown paper cowboy, with the brown paper hat and brown paper boots?? He was arrested for 'rustling'!

This thread gives me an idea how to make a million. A plectrum fob. You drill a hole in the pick and fasten the patened plectrum fob on. Then you can pull it out of the pocket quickly, and it is carefully designed to hook onto a string when dropped, removing that annoying problem of how to extract a plectrum that has fallen in the soundhole.

Being of weak mind but still inventive, I've fashioned a little leather key ring pouch containing spare finger and flat picks. When I forget my picks (which is increasingly often) I'm glad I got a spare set.

The pick pocket is a great great thing, but I guess I'll just have to quit washing my jeans. Must be where they all go. Somewhere in the cracks and crannies of our longsuffering washingmachine.

Herge, Didja hear about the leper cowboy? He threw his leg over his horse.

Reminds me of a story I hard on tlevision, when a guide into the Grand Canyon was telling about some of his *guests*. Seems, while he was guiding tourists on burros down into the canyon, one animal took off with tourist attached. When the guide finally caught up with them, the man was lying on the ground, minus a leg! Horified, the guide went into action, teh man told him his leg was still in the stirrup with the long gone burro. By now, the guide knew something was "fishy". He knew even more when the fellow told him not to worry, he had another, *spare* leg in the car at the top int he parking lot. All became clear....he had a wooden leg, now somewhere at the bottom of the Grand Canyon!
