Subject: RE: BS: Good news bad news From: Stilly River Sage Date: 17 Nov 07 - 01:10 PM Here's a little more about Gargoyle's Inula helenium (sorry it's from Wikipedia, but it's quick and relatively clear. Hopefully it's also correct. . . ) SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: Good news bad news From: JohnInKansas Date: 18 Nov 07 - 01:09 AM Lest some (who don't read the links) might miss the connection, the plant linked by gargoyle is the one cited in the first link by Donuel. The Wiki page from Stilly includes a link to the same newspaper article. Donuel's link, regretably, does not indicate which part(s) of the plant have been found to be effective against the MRSA bugs. (That would be a bit much to expect from a newsrag report.) It's also a little vague about whether the "kill" demonstrated is for topical application - which would be of use for cleaning a treatment area, or whether it can also be used as an internal medicine for infected patients - which would perhaps be of even greater help. Subject: RE: BS: Good news bad news From: Donuel Date: 18 Nov 07 - 08:36 AM This is potentially good news since MRSA kills 18,000 a year. bad news Henson got a streptococcus pneumonia infection that took his life at 52. good news His funeral was the funniest funeral I have ever seen including his last words which he had the foresight to write down ahead of time. |
