While Amos seems to be king of posts/messages I wonder who might be the duke of most threads initiated.
Interested in such kind of statistics, I think this could be much more difficult to find out.

Agreed, SINSULL. So let's try to separate this question into three categories: music, non-music and total. But this seems to be very difficult I believe.

I don't believe anyone has the time to parse this out by hand; at least I would not see the value in it.

Jeff could write an algorithm to capture the name of the author of the first thread in every post, and sort them into a list.

In a lot less time than you or I could do it by hand, with close to 110,000 threads in play.

Amos, everybody can use the "trace"-option to get an overview after a while how many threads were started by oneself.
Perhaps there is no real value in finding out who the winner is, but on the other hand -without knowing how many threads you have initiated - you wouldn't have been the "king" of posts without Mudcatters starting more or less interesting threads. True???

I ain't no king of nuffin' -- just a prolix wiseguy.

What I meant was, I myselfr would not undertake the laborious task of sorting out first-post on over 100,000 threads just to count 'em up. It would be interesting to know sure, but not so compellingly interesting that I would invest the time.

Concerning this thread, I do not expext anybody to start any difficult calculations to get a result.
But I thought that there might be a method - based on the programme of Mudcat Cafe - or personally made statistics to clear this question.
