Well, well, well...

Looks as if the P-Vine sent out too many hints to too many people about wanted a panini grill and so I got her one and her son's chipped in and got her another so...

...one must go back and we don't know which one is the better of the two so does anyone have any comments, suggestions (related to panini machines) or advice on which one to keep???

We have the Griddler and use it almost every day. It really does do all the things it sez it does.

Well, the Cuininart does have a couple advantges in that the grill plates are removable and that it comes with two different sets... One with the grill lines and the other flat...

Yeah, I knew the Panini girls. too... They was twins and to look at 'um you couldn't tell 'um apart... But you get 'um in the backseat of yer daddy's Ford and geeze louise... World of difference... Paula was hot... Pam was not...

Whew... Get's me all hot and bothered trhinkin' about Paula...

I prefer grilse. Well, salmon, but we are not allowed to take salmon. We have to be reserved in our conservation. Grilled grilse is pretty good eatin. BTW, Bobert... ah, nevermind.

A close family friend has a kitchen full of "Cousin Art" appliances, and there is no question that the ones I've seen are well made and mostly work quite well.

It's hard to find other brands that are a much fun to use and as durable, so the Cuz is worth a little extra. Unfortunately, compared to other closely competitive devices, they seem to cost a lot more, although occasinally you do find a bargain.

While the price of the gift does not often relate to the dearness of the gifter - since if anything happens to this appliance YOU likely are the one who will have to replace it or get it repaired:

1. Keep the Cuzin Art since it will probably last at least a little longer and be less likely to need replacement.

2. Keep the other one, if it will be a lot cheaper to replace when she wears it out. (She may wear either one out, if she uses it a lot. Even Cousin Art can die.)

3. Keep them both, and invite more people to the parties.

Actually we're with JiK's idea-- keep both.

The C-art does also grill, and handsomely. (Our filet mignon was done on ours last night.)

The cheaper one is the one for outdor use-- the C-art is vulnerable to dropping and then the lid doesn't close as coordinatedly.

The C-art also works as a warming tray for buffet serving.

Quesadillas are nice in the pantani, too. We have grilled fruit in it as well.

Veteran User's Tips--

<> Keep a potholder near the machine so that you can custom-angle the top for oddly-shaped contents.
<> Pre-warm sammich contents if you are making a really tall one so you don't burn the bread trying to get the middle hot.
<> Make anything in the mnachine that you would make otherwise, adn get away from the recipe book that came with it as soon as possible. It does an amazing number of things, and does them quite well.
<> A panini press/griddle plus a crockpot plus a coffeemaker make a COMPLETE KITCHEN APPLIANCE SET for dorm, motel, camping, new homes. Add a dishpan/drainer/soap, paper plates, paper towels, camping flatware, a set of condiments, and a few wooden spoons to your good pocket knife and you can do just about any meal, viola. From a plastic bin that will fit in your trunk, that one person can carry.

Well, we do have some spacial limitations in the kitchen so we're gonna keep the H-Beach because the P-Vine talked with one of here sons and this sone said that they did a lot of research intom these things so, the Q-Art is going back... I'd love to keep it but there just isn't any space for it and the H-Beach, too...

You made the right choice, Bob. If you had kept the Cuisinart, that would have been the end of it. All would have been right with the world, God would have been in His Heaven, and the Prince and Princess would have lived happily ever after. But that's just not the Bobert way, is it? Hell no! Instead, you kept the piece of crap Hamilton Beach thing that'll break down in six months, thereby guaranteeing your loyal fan base another installment in the "Panini Grill Saga" sometime June or July. In fact, it'll probably break while you're cooking something for a July 4th celebration. Depend on it. Go ahead and start writing the episode now, and see if you can work the lesbian and the bear into the story while you're at it.
