Subject: BS: Brussels sprouts and Gorillas... From: Will Fly Date: 04 Jan 09 - 08:00 AM From today's (UK) Observer newspaper: Zoo creates a stink Brussels sprouts fed to a zoo's 10 gorillas as a festive treat caused a stink for visitors. Keepers at Chessington World of Adventure in Surrey have had to take the vegetable off the menu after complaints about the smell. One said: "We gave them a feast on Christmas Day and Boxing Day when we were closed, but now we have re-opened they have had a change of diet." So - it even happens to gorillas - sigh... |

Subject: RE: BS: Brussels sprouts and Gorillas... From: VirginiaTam Date: 04 Jan 09 - 08:05 AM So does this mean that restaurants serving sprouts will have to take them off the menu or that they will have to close to the public on Christmas and Boxing Day. I am confused. |

Subject: RE: BS: Brussels sprouts and Gorillas... From: GUEST,Wishing to remain anonyomous for obvious rea Date: 05 Jan 09 - 08:27 AM Chocolate dipped sprouts, sounds divine, so long as the sprouts have been cooked to the correct firmness. They should be soft on the outside, yet firm and with a hint of crispness on the inside. The chocolate should be rich and dark, with a hint of nuttiness. The addition of a little marron glace would enhance the entire experience. Sprout lovers of the world, send me your brassicas! |

Subject: RE: BS: Brussels sprouts and Gorillas... From: Little Hawk Date: 05 Jan 09 - 12:29 PM Chongo has told me about what happens when gorillas or chimps or other apes eat too much brussels sprouts. Horrible! Chongo says the gorillas do it deliberately, just because they enjoy being rude and gross and offending people. It's a form of bravado on their part, he says. I'm not sure if I can trust what Chongo says about it, though, because he's always taking cheap shots at gorillas for some reason...except while he was campaigning for president, when he suddenly became the great and loyal friend of all gorillas... Hmm... |
