Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts - aka where Micca's been now! From: Tig Date: 20 Jan 09 - 06:08 PM He rang me to tell me about his first booking there but to enjoy the B&B enough to go back for a SECOND?!!!! I told you to take better care of yourself Oh Ancient One. We decided there should be a "Sulky" corner available at clubs and festivals for those of us who are on either No or Very Limited alcohol due to medications. Anyone know any decent non-alcoholic drinks which aren't filled with tons of sweeteners and other nastys - or would like to offer ideas for 'cocktails'? Remember you've had Wugsie too long to send her back so just get well quickly and escape to look after her. Lots of love and BIG HUGS xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

The wine is Reisling, not Liebfraumlich (SP?). Quite nice actually. Damn it, Micca. Why couldn't you have pulled this here? You could have gotten first rate care and then left... Is he still projectile vomiting? SINS |

Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts - aka where Micca's been now! From: katlaughing Date: 21 Jan 09 - 11:16 AM Just spoke to him, just after he'd been tortured by the "physical terrorist" as he called it. He sounded good, upbeat, and thinking he might go home later, today. I don't know how things work there, but he did say they had more tests to do and I note the time over there is late afternoon, so maybe another night in hospital? He did say he had a room, all to himself, with his own en suite bathroom with shower and all. Quite impressed with that and puzzled that he had such. I told him it was all those Mudcat vibes we've been sending of "Take Good Care of our Micca!" He said he's had hotel rooms that weren't as nice.:-) He sounded good and I am thankfull. |

Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts - aka where Micca's been now! From: manitas_at_work Date: 21 Jan 09 - 12:10 PM The hospital has had a lot of building work done lately. New clinics, day operations wings etc. They've also set themselves up as a university ie teaching hospital and I reckon they've had a few private rooms added so that they can cater for the burgeoning private market. It could just be the smell, of course. |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts - aka where Micca's been now! From: SINSULL Date: 21 Jan 09 - 12:52 PM Gosh! If he gets used to the private bath, I will never see him again. I do believe the food is better here... |
Subject: BS: How to mend a Micca: Virtually that is From: GUEST,Fortunato (temporarily in Texas) Date: 21 Jan 09 - 04:28 PM Micca, mudcat's own Traveling Gnome, raconteur and reputed folkie Casanova, has been somewhat under the weather. Feeling poorly, that is, and I'd like to start a virtual healing circle for him. Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts - Micca needs mending:-) From: Morticia Date: 21 Jan 09 - 06:16 PM I left my mobile (cell) phone at the office so can't call him tonight but I guess he is still in there as he isn't answering the house phone. I hope there are some pretty nurses to take his mind off things, that is all I have to say about it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts - Micca needs mending:-) From: katlaughing Date: 21 Jan 09 - 07:51 PM Me, too, Morti. A private room is all very well, but it can get lonesome, esp. if you are used to being wugsied every night! |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts - Micca needs mending:-) From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 21 Jan 09 - 07:58 PM Yup, he's still there, but happy with his e-book and audio recorder! He claims to be as comfy as can be and sounds as cheerful as I've ever known him! (It's interesting that there seem to be no restrictions on cell phone use in UK hospitals, while here in the US there are signs (and portents) all over the hospitals forbidding cell phone use. Any techno-geeks on either side of the Pond know why?) |

Not that you particularly give a crap or a projectile barf, but I swear I just completely missed this thread befoe the title was changed. Kat.....Its all your fault! See, I blame her for my own fuck-ups and all is well. I'm thinking part of the problem was Sins and Jacqui as well so I am totally without fault! And uh, like,,,,,,hmmmmm......what the hell was this about?.........Uh, I guess, er, maybe.......WAIT!!! I GOT IT!!! Okay......feel better and I'll hold a good thought. Every time I write that I think that holding my dick is a lot more fun but I doubt it helps anyone besides myself. But then again, I wouldn't hold your dick for all the zebra mussels in Lake Erie. Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts - Micca needs mending:-) From: Little Hawk Date: 21 Jan 09 - 09:40 PM OY! If I'd have known this was happening before I would have got in touch with Olive Whatnoll and had her rush to your bedside, Micca. She would want to feed you some of her latest pastrie creations, of course, and fill you in on the latest gossip about "wot's 'appenin' in 'Ull", and I expect that would do wonders to restore your flagging spirits. Olive has dirt on half the people in Hull...the half on the lower end mostly...and she is quite eager for someone to share it with. |

Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts - Micca needs mending:-) From: GUEST,LTS pretending to work Date: 22 Jan 09 - 03:18 AM The malingering old git is waiting for more test and I'll let you know what's happening when I know... The restriction on mobile phones is due to a perceived interferance with cardiac monitoring equipment... allegedly. There are areas in UK hospitals where they request mobiles be turned off. A&E (ER) is one of these because of the resusc equipment. Really what it is, is a money-grabbing corporation who install mobile 'public' phones for the bedside in hospitals, who want to be able to continue charging extortionate rates to patients who wish to let people know where and how they are. Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts - Micca needs mending:-) From: SINSULL Date: 22 Jan 09 - 08:09 AM "Micca, don't forget he comes from the other side o'the family! " otherwise known as the shallow end of the gene pool. I tried to call Micca this morning on his cell and got an odd message. Now I understand. Cell phonesd are usually banned in hospitals here both for the electronic problem and the fact that people seem to need to bellow into them - damn annoying. What's the 1 Rule, Tink? Micca needs to know. |
Subject: RE: BS: Good thoughts - Micca needs mending:-) From: Noreen Date: 22 Jan 09 - 09:02 AM Rules in UK hospitals re mobile phone use have very recently been relaxed in most areas including at the bedside. Certain areas have special signs where they COULD affect certain equipment. So the expensively-installed and expensive-to-use bedside telephone systems will be losing money for the companies which installed them. There are privacy issues too- not just noisy phone conversations on the ward, but camera phones... BBC News: Hospital mobile bans can be eased Wishing you well, Micca. |

The visit included taking a new battery and the charger so he'll be able to reply. To the person who called his house at about 7.20pm GMT, sorry, I couldn't find his phone and then I couldn't work out how to use it so I missed you and may have screwed up your answerphone message.... my bad! He's slowly going nuts with boredom and is STILL waiting for his MRI scan, but is hopeful at getting parole tomorrow.
