Subject: BS: speaking of faith - Irish Jewish Jesuit From: Donuel Date: 01 Feb 09 - 08:46 AM The guest this week on 'Speaking of faith' is very funny and has een had an asteroid named after her fictional planet Renulat in her novel Children of God. Check out Mary Doria Russel. She is actually unpretenious about religion and the mind of God while weaving many scientific threads. "God forgets. Just like we know that the terrible twos are a trying time, we forget how bad it is until we experience it. God may know how hard free will of a species can be starting with don't eat that fruit and escalting to 10 commandments as mankind gets more contentious..." btw she converted to Judaism. Mary is really fun to listen to. novelist as God |

Subject: RE: BS: speaking of faith - Irish Jewish Jesuit From: Donuel Date: 01 Feb 09 - 09:57 AM Mary made the 2 most keen senses of the aliens, the sense of smell and music... http://blog.speakingoffaith.org/post/72363693/mary-doria-russell-on-the-music-of-little-green Rigs. over the last 6 months I have found your posts have gone from troubling to dismaying for me. Is there a cause for the slight bitter edge of bigotry to your remarks or is this merely a comic experiment of yours? |

Subject: RE: BS: speaking of faith - Irish Jewish Jesuit From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 01 Feb 09 - 10:06 AM "A lot of fun to listen to"??? I found her very trying to try to listen to. As if the razor-blade voice weren't enough, she's as nervous and jumpy as a cat on a hot tin roof (to coin an old phrase). Continually interrupting both the interviewer and even herself. I DID appreciate the Speaking of Faith interview with her, because now I know I'm not in any danger of reading any of her books. Dave Oesterreich |
