Review: "Under the Covers" Maddy Prior

Just discovered the Maddy Prior CD, Under the Covers, in which she sings songs by more contemporary writers and singers. Any Mudcatters familiar with CD? Any opinions? My thoughts are mixed.

This is a collection of covers from the band Maddy & The Girls (Abby Laithe & Claudia Gibson). It's not a Maddy Prior CD. What they do they do very well but it leaves me entirely cold. It's just a project that they wanted to do. Some will like it and some won't.

Maddy Prior and the Girls, Bib and Tuck CD, track 4 Hush, Hush was written by me and not Maddy Prior as stated on the CD. I have been in touch with her management who has apologised.

Hiya,

Leaves me cold too. Maybe it's because the actual songs do nothing for me, or because I'm used to hearing her do more trad. stuff. Either way it's not my thing at all – but I could listen to 'Bib & Tuck' all day. I love it.
