VT I am like the BBC I collect archive footage, Your Mississippi growling voice (compliment)
certainly gets my imagination returning to my driving truck days across the USA.
Royston I believe knows my personality to know i mean no insult.
Pete of the other hand for Ch...t Sake don't encourage him with a sombrero, he will be
doing the hat dance around the fire at knockholt. it will be bad enough him chasing the sheep in his coon hat.

V T and The Silent One Fisheye and I formally invite you to sleep in Jess ( our little caravan) on the Saturday night of Knockholt

Many thanks Fair maid and Fisheye - your invitation is respectfully accepted.

Fisheye - if you really want my voice as background to your little videos, make soem suggestions of songs, I will practice and maybe at GI or Knockholt I can get them down without messing them up.

I know that Royston is often asked to sing the Cat Came Back song and that it is commonly referred to as the Pussy song.

I was commenting (jokingly) that the term "Royston's Pussy" was a bit ... uhmmm out there.

Pete- I wish I still had my big blue sombrero (mariachi deco all over it). I would make a gift of it to you. You might probably find a use for my daughter's pimp santa hat. A purple and black animal print affair with a basball bill on fron and fluffy pompom on the tassel end. Wonder what happened to that thing.

Now I am off to listen and look at the videos.

Nice to see y'all, albeit briefly. Van Morrison seemed to have received a five star rating from all the broadsheets. Basically the line up for Atsral Weeks was the same as last year's gigs minus two, plus two cellos and a viola. I have seen him plenty of times with much better muicians. Should anyone bump into him anywhere offer him my suggestion of halving the musicians and paying them double. It'll cost him the same but be better.

ok JB will get it loaded. it is the Nags Head's signature song and I am sure Jimmy McCarthy will not object.

Ah, not in this instance, Fisheye. What I was trying to say (in my usual facetious way!) was that the two links above my previous posting both lead to the same clip, i.e. Byker Hill. BSA Bantam is nowhere to be seen!

Anyway, thanks for doing the clips; you've done a grand job.

" In the early stages of the event I was out in the Beer garden having a smoke.
there was a local out there having a smoke too.
referring to me hat he said' who do you think you are then Davy bloody Crocket?
I said No "Im Pedro Del Pelo' Which is Mexican for Pete the hat.

Videos will be on YouTube as usual ( ideasthatsell ) Royston's Pussy and Kevin's Normandy Shores are ready, so if some kind Mudcat technologist can add the links.
It is always difficult for me to choose who to put up there 2.5 hrs of movie is a lot is a lot to choose from. I will always try rotate everyone unless requested NO.
I did appreciate the the audience participation with 'It Blew away'...that was a first for me.

Well, thanks to all for coming.

Every single one of Crow Sister's songs was totally rivetting, Annie was spot on: itinerant Irish locals well gabbed by her songs (and Fay caught me well with Danny Boy!).   Essex Girl I think was grabbing the crowd even better than usual, and likewise Fisheye either was singing out better or was benefitting from the slightly smaller attendance to get well heard. Pete's guitar was ringing out well (and the hat an instant hit). VT nearly gave us all religion (!!). Sheppey Paul was running well to form, and as already said above Brian and Marion were excellent. Melodeonboy was his usual self-effacing self with his quiet and delicate rendering of the trombone song, and Cari continues to rescue and refresh violin tunes that others ruin.

However, selfishly, I liked best the two biggest walls of sound - Byker Hill and Lowlands - both of which seemed to be in 16-part harmony, and I mean harmony!

I will be trying to assemble a suitable date for a one-off BBQ in the pub garden over the summer. Watch this space for that and also for the deathiversary.

Thanks Richard for organizing a excellent afternoon and for putting me eyes back in when they fell out half way through "Blow the man down. What a Par-larva that was.

Excellent songs and singers well done to everyone. Fiddle birds Desperado was great and I love it when she accompanies me on the songs I do. Well done to Roystone very good indeed.

I could hear Kev The Clogs from out side in the beer garden brilliant. Im pleased also that Val find me Raccoon hat so amusing when I started sodding about with it towards the end of the session.
Brian and Marian were also excellent,
Finally I would like to add that im somewhat saddened that this was the last session until Autumn but I know we all see each other again at Sweeps and at Knockholt.

Once again well done everyone
Regards Pierre.
P,S I think they should change the name from Bishops Finger to Bishops fist, after 7 pints it hits you and it ohhhhhh My head this morning.,

Thanks to RB for organising a lovely meet - and a welcome back to his home. It circled round a bit swiftly initially but built plenty momentum by later in the afternoon as more folks arrived. Too many good performances to number, and unfortunately I can't recall some of the names of the songs which stood out for me, but I was especially struck by Marions Bodhran playing.. And Fiddle Birds rendition of Desperado was really touching for sentimental reasons :)

Session was a brilliant swan song for the season. Love that No Worries. Must pay keen attention to Brian when he plays guitar and to Marion's stunning harmony.

Kev the Clogs providwed some tingle factor at least twice as did Carrie's fiddle playing.

Was great to hear Pierre and Fisheye again. Fishey please do not put up that Wade in the Water video unless you can cut out where I botched it.

Thanks to RB, Royston and Kev for Byker Hill. Think that one is going down as my favourite (all time).

Special thanks to Brian for setting up my guitar and to RB for the specially made squidge (x2).

Enough is has good has a feast ? Im known to be OTT when it comes to contributing food. But if it is not needed then so be it.

Has I said in the upper thread I would gladly contribute a bit of grub so long has it does not offend the Landlords. Which clearly it may so I withdraw the offer.
Im looking forward to seeing you all Sunday about 12.15

Since you are hypoglycemic, that is a genuine dietary requirement. The sort of social session PtH was proposing was, I was concerned, possibly OTT.

This is a difficult one.

Some of us are coming a long distance on only breakfast and it is a long day (9:30am to 6pm) to go on a couple of roast potatoes, especially for a hypoglycemic.

So sorry folks, I guess I won't be bringing nibbles in. We will just sneak out mid session (I hate doing that) for a sandwich.

I think it would be easy to see taking food into the pub, except in pursuit of genuine dietary requirements, as rather rude to Peter and Nova.
