Most people who play music are NOT heels, as far as I have found.

But opinions differ.

Women who dance the samba might wear Cuban heels.

Not only does music heel, but it rolls over and fetches sticks.

Heel, heel, the gangs all here.

What the heck do we care.

What the heck do we care.

Heel, heel, the gangs all here.

What the heck do we care now!

Music heels? You mean the guys who treat their roadies and their groupies like dirt?

Recently I saw a beautiful young (East) Indian woman dancing a classical dance. One unusual move she did was strike the stage floor with her heels to make a drum sound.

My husband and I loved her dance. It had ways to move the body that I had never seen before and never dreamed of.

Her dance was part of a preliminary performance by a local dance group. It was shorter but far better than the dull, cold-blooded performance by professional musicians which followed.

I knew a girl in college who could move her body in ways...never mind.

Musician, heel thyself.

It's interesting how social dance movements keep being recycled.

Heel/toe is mentioned in this 19th century African American dance song which has very troubling associations:

Get first upon your heel,
And then upon your toe,
And every time you turn around,
You jump Jim Crow.

-snip-

And "The Heel Toe" is the name of a current hip hop dance.

Here's a link to a YouTube instructional dance video of the Heel Toe:

Monsieur Jacques Dupuis. They say if you want to stop a Quebecois fiddler playing you need to nail his feet to the floor...
