        Nancy is an experienced and committed fiddle teacher, and as a performer has won two BBC awards with JAMES FAGAN. Nancy enjoys transmitting traditional tunes in a detailed and comprehensive way to players from all musical backgrounds, using different methods of learning by ear to suit the individual participant, as well as providing written music for those who like it.

She will share her perspectives on expressive fiddle playing, focusing on tone, rhythm, bowing techniques and ornamentation, all helping to build a dynamic style which is each player's own!

preparing for lift and smoothness.

13.30 "From The Ear To The Fingers" - choosing and approaching folk
fiddle tunes; absorbing traditional influences; deconstructing
advanced techniques.

15.00        Tea/coffee break

15.15        "Fiddle Textures" - composing and improvising arrangements;
modes, harmony and chords; fiddle and songs; playing simply with
richness.
