Canada vs USA in Gold Metal game(Tuesday)
Jr Hockey at it's best!!!!!
It'll not be a cakewalk this year for us. Canada was lucky to win the game against the U.S. New Years Eve.
For all you hockey fans south of the border, this is a game you should try and watch(support your team), and if I was a betting man I'd go with............................just can't say it! My mouth won't let me, nor my fingers type it!

Did I read that this year will be the last of NHL "Dream teams" in the Olympics? Now THAT is some quality hockey!

Opposing thoughts Jack!
I don't disagree that having the best of the best play is a dream come true to watch. Would one be willing to place the rest of their pro career on the line for a chance at a Gold Metal? To be honest, I'm not so sure!
As far as I'm concerned, the last "Dream Team" was the 1980 U.S.A. team that shocked the world! 99 times out of 100 the Russians win, but as Herb Brooks said, "not tonight". A bunch of kids beating the best team on the planet, now that was a dream come true. From a Canadians point of view, maybe one of the best games I've ever watched seeing those "Commie Bastards" hangin their heads.
I suspect tomorrow will probably resemble "old time hockey".

Enjoy!!!!!

Yes, Congrats to the USA from me as well! They played an awesome series and Canada did also. I don't think that either were losers and what "heart" from both sides!

Were the hockey players communists? Or were they just hockey players who happened to grow up in the Soviet empire?

As I grow older, I grow less and less interested in nationalism expressed through sports.

I'm pretty sure that when Canada played them in 72 they were all serving members the Soviet Red Army. In 1980 I don't think things were that much different. So, just taking a guess here, but I would think they were communists!
