Subject: RE: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: John MacKenzie Date: 20 Feb 10 - 08:40 AM I wish all the peurile infantile, tacky, smutty, scatalogical, and totally unfunny jokes that fill the airwaves, and my e-mail inbox would cease NOW. Apart ftrom that, I don't give a fuck what he did or didn't do, or with whom he did or didn't do it. |
Subject: RE: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: Emma B Date: 20 Feb 10 - 08:35 AM My thoughts on Tiger Woods - As golf is one of the few televised sports I enjoy watching is to wish this excellent player a speedy return to the game he has excelled at and whose skill it has been a pleasure to watch. My thoughts on the coverage in the media and elsewhere - Unfortunately, the touring involved with such a career means that such professionals will spend far too much time away from family and home and their athlete / celebrity status will make them exceptionally attractive to many women adding up to many opportunities for adultery This is NOT to blame women for 'men who stray' - whether that is some media fantasy of 'hot groupies' or assuming some 'failure' on the part of a wife and mother of two children unable or unwilling to share the pressure of so much touring - neither should it make Tiger Woods into some kind of crazed 'sex addict' This article opens up some other (less headline grabbing) insights…… Critically Examining Media Coverage of Tiger Woods |
Subject: RE: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: Don(Wyziwyg)T Date: 20 Feb 10 - 08:23 AM Don F would be quite surprised, and possibly just a litle miffed, being much better at expressing himself than I am. Don T. |
Subject: RE: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: alanabit Date: 20 Feb 10 - 08:13 AM What Kendall and Don Firth et al said. It is none of my damned business and I would rather his private life stayed his own. I do not need to know and contrary to the cant printed in the press, I believe I have no right to know. |
Subject: RE: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: Leadfingers Date: 20 Feb 10 - 08:05 AM Nice comment on 'The News Qiz' on Beeb Radio 4 ! Reference 'Therapy' , does that mean when he gets an erection someone hits it with a cricket bat ! |
Subject: RE: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: Don(Wyziwyg)T Date: 20 Feb 10 - 07:22 AM Maybe just for once, we've all decided that a) It's a personal matter between him and his wife b) In the great scheme of things it is monumentally unimportant. c) Nobody would even notice if he were the world's best taxi driver, or bricklayer, instead of golfer, so why bother hounding him to destruction. I'm seriously hoping that the above is true, and that we can leave the poor bastard to pick up the pieces in private. Don T. |
Subject: RE: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: Bobert Date: 20 Feb 10 - 07:16 AM Well, I'm waitin' until Tiger walks up my driveway, knocks on my door and asks my forgiveness before I'm gonna ever watch golf on TV ever again... Nothin' less!!! (But, Boberdz... You've never watched golf on TV???) Shhhhhhhhhh..... B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: Smedley Date: 20 Feb 10 - 07:06 AM I completely agree that this is not the most important topic. But the residents of Planet Mudcat often want to discuss topics of a similar 'level' of significance and I wondered why this one was overlooked. |
Subject: RE: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: skarpi Date: 20 Feb 10 - 06:39 AM I Agree with Kendall None of my business, maybe his wife should have take better care in the first place .............. what is wrong in a relationship when either or both partners go and see other s to have their needs fullfill ? hummm .......is it becouse they have lost ..the connection or are they growin apart ... we don´t know ... like Kendall said there are more matter than this to worry about ... . or not .... |
Subject: RE: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: kendall Date: 20 Feb 10 - 05:50 AM None of my business. With all the strife in the world why should we care who he is involved with? He has been front page news more often than some serious stuff. The media play to the prurient interests of the people who have no life of their own. Pathetic I say. |
Subject: RE: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: mauvepink Date: 20 Feb 10 - 05:48 AM He's a man who has had an affair. What's new? It happens. It's tat. Old tat at that Considering what is happening in the real world it's hardly newsworthy save those who like a good gossip and to see celebrities implode. But celebrities are only human too, with human needs and weaknesses. Same as politicians, etc etc. Why does it still surprise people? Move along please: nothing to see here ;-) mp |
Subject: RE: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: Smedley Date: 20 Feb 10 - 05:35 AM His 'apology' was the lead item on BBC News yesterday, which given the state of the economy and continuing wars is pretty shocking. |
Subject: RE: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: artbrooks Date: 20 Feb 10 - 05:24 AM Another jock (in the American sense of the word) with no moral character. Who cares? |
Subject: BS: No thoughts about Tiger Woods? From: Smedley Date: 20 Feb 10 - 05:12 AM I thought there would be a thread by now. (or have I short-sightedly overlooked it?) |
