I think that George McGovern may have been one of the last sentient politicians in South Dakota... been down hill ever since he retired.

True.

Today, ninety percent of Greenland is covered by massive ice sheets, in many places more than two miles thick.

Also true.   BUT! The two statements have nothing to do with each other.

The Greenland colony occupied a tiny strip at the south end of the west coast of Greenland, which was not glacier-covered and was farmable, after a fashion. And yes, ninety percent (give or take; I'll accept that figure arguendo) of Greenland is NOW glacier covered, but at that time most of Greenland was glacier-covered then, too.

No conclusion as to global warming can validly be drawn from that paragraph.
