Hi Everybody,

Stay With Me is a song sung by The Mitchell Trio. It was never released before The Mercury Years in 2006 except on one Single. I believe it's a song at the same period of For Bobbie. Do anybody have the lyrics or chords to this song?

Thanks,
P-R

It took me a bit of work to find the name of the songwriter. I'm not surprised it's by John Denver. It sounds like one of his.
Good song.

STAY WITH ME
(John Denver)

The time, it is too long for the waiting,
Minutes seem like days when we're apart;
Even though you say it's time for leaving,
Please don't go away again, sweetheart.

Stay with me, stay with me.

The time, it goes so fast when you are near me,
Days and nights are one, or so it seems;
Why, then, do you say you've got to leave me,
When you can answer all my prayers and dreams?

Stay with me, stay with me.

[bridge]
If you leave me this time,
it will be the last time.

So tell me, is your love slowly fading,
Or do you care as much as once before?
But time it is too long for the waiting,
And I can't live without you any more.

Stay with me, stay with me.

Transcribed by ear from The Chad Mitchell Trio: The Mercury Years

Thanks for the transcription, Joe. I've never seen the lyrics to this song. Nice short song.

As far as I know, Stay With Me is a song written by John Denver in 1965 with the song For Bobbie. It was recorded at the "Violets of Dawn" session, and was later released as a single in 1965. It was re-released in 1998 (NOT 2006!) on the compilation album The Chad Mitchell Trio: The Mercury Years.
