I am interested to know if anybody has sent any of their children as residential for a week to KG Adventure Worksop UK or any other location in the UK.?

If so, how did you find them. Was it worth the money, is it safe, is it well organised etc etc

This is the link to the Worksop location

Any help advice etc would be most appreciated.

Many thanks
Arthur

Arthur, don't your Local Authority Youth Service run summer residentials? Ours did when I was a YW. We took groups of young people aged 13 - 18 to a wide range of centres, including the Peak District, rural Lincolnshire and Jersey. All properly planned and controlled, and great fun.

Having said that, it's 14 years since I gave YW up, and with the rise of the PC-Loonies in YW, and the resultant growth of the 'Risk-Assessment Culture' they might not take people away any more in case someone breaks a fingernail, or gets a scratch or - OMG, dare I even suggest it - falls over and bruises themselves!! :-) :-)

Not really sure BWM. As you say, with all the problems involved these days!!!!

I know that groups in deprived areas, schools and other groups can book in at these Klub Group locations. I dare say that those groups are funded and it costs now't.

I know the British Legion funds children who have parents who are in the forces to go to the above.

I will do a bit more investigation.

Thanks
Arthur
