They suspended him for misconduct... not for rape. He is innocent until proven guilty. Your comment that victims were paid off is a tad too much.

In any case, this thread is about the games on the go.

And the Pats are in shit. That punt ruse was ALMOST a real good idea.

But, I still expect them to pull it out of the fire. Just watch what happens in the second half when The Belly brings in Welker AND Edleman at the same time. And then fires to Branch in the long game. <;-)

Sour grapes, yes, but, how do you get to 14 and 2 and then essentially bench Welker and Branch for the first half?

Anyway, there it is. I shall now cheer for ??? Although, I like to watch the bears defense... #54 is one of my favs of all time. I must think this over.

Like Ol'ster, I'm kinda worried about my Steelers but they'll prolly come thru just fine...

Super Bowl prediction:

Steelers 24, Packers 21...

Gnu what misconduct do you think they meant? Do you think that the THREE different sexual assault alegations were a coinsidence?

When these players beat thier wives, torture dogs, or comitt sexual assult without being kicked out of the game it cheepens the game. This is the best game in the world and the players should not be criminals.

I think it will be Steelers/Packers

They both seem to have better leadership and more playoff experience than their opposition.

>>Or indicating how tons of money can pay off victims, but they suspended him for 4 games without protest.

When these players beat thier wives, torture dogs, or comitt sexual assult without being kicked out of the game it cheepens the game. This is the best game in the world and the players should not be criminals. <<<

No and no.

Obviously, if there had been payoffs, one of the accusers would not be suing.

These men are not competing for Miss America, they are not "spokesmodels" They throw balls, catch balls, run with balls and beat the living crap out of each other. What they do off the field has no bearing on that.

I think that Ben was an irresponsible drinker with poor judgment, but I don't think he is a rapist. The girls come up to him, bat their eyes and flirt cause he has 2 Superbowl rings and a 103 million dollar contract. He takes a liberty. They see dollar signs and cry "rape."

Stupid? Yes. Rape? No.

Hopefully, missing quarter of this regular season has taught him a lesson.

Big Ben is a very good decent person, like many other guys sometime he thinks not with his brain but other body parts. He was setup by others who just wanted quick cash, he was stupid and showed poor judgment but he is no abuser of any type to any one. He is young guy with money and it played out just like Jack said.

Everyone is talking here. Why were Welker, Branch, Gronkowski... benched? Was Welker disciplined???? Edelman was not sent in to replace Welker??? That's just the tip of the iceburg.

The consensus is that the whole thing is fixed. Seriously, that's what Eddy The Bum 2 and even the guys at my Sobey's food court are saying and those guys are experts. Now, I don't frequent Tim's so I haven't got conclusive research but it sounds like The Belly may be gettin "fat".

Now in Ohio yer either a Steelers fan or a Browns fan but me being a Virginia boy kinda liked 'um both... That way when I went to Ohio with her I wouldn't piss off anyone too bad... Pure survival instincts... That took...

Go Steelers!!!

I have daughters, and two of them were NFL cheerleaders, and not once did they ever have any actions by any players that were inappropriate over the 10 year period. I also know what Ben does for sick kids. Things are not always as they seem on the TV or internet. It is easy to always believe the bad without knowing the circumstances or the accuser.   Now back to the game, Steelers will hopefully be in the SB ... and I sure hope Green Bay beats the tar out of the bears ... never liked that team but I did like some of the players in the past (especially Walter Payton)

I sure hope this year is a great game, they have been getting better lately. In the past they were not very good games. Lately they have been very exciting games to watch. Anyone know who is favored in the GB Bears game, first I saw GB by 3 then I saw Bears by 4

Urlacher is still great because he just has that innate sense and the intelligence it takes to play what I call free safety. Gosh... so many other names come to mind besides Dick and Brian... first one is Ronnie Lott... man he was fun to watch. Tight ends going over the middle had tight ends!

J-boy I completely agree with you ... Steelers do not have cheer leaders never did. The Green Bay Packers at each home game feature a local high school cheer leading squad to give them some time. I like that idea better and the fans tend to behave when it is kids out there. I hate the whole idea myself. Rap, although I still have season tickets to the bills games, I never go. My wife and her friends are huge fans and never miss a game but at the time the Bills were so good, I was happy to see them do well. I only went to the games to see my kids.

The cheerleaders are sexual objects... period! It's a sad thing in a way, no doubt... IN A WAY. But, if it helps them make some money for some harmless (yeah, I know) titilation, I say go for it and take every penny to the bank.

I blame guys like Dan. If he wasn't so good looking he wouldn't have daughters so good looking as to be so admired for their beauty and thus be paid to cheer for the eye of the beholder. Shame on you Dan!

WTF? They are young women. They look great. I like to look at ANY good lookin woman of any age, including Dan's daughters. That is not perverse. That is not exploitation. That is reality. Telling me I should not look at women from a male perspective is just strange. And I can prove it... on Sunday.

After my oldest left the NFL she took up an easy sport, she now is a ranked ironman competitor along with her husband. They made it to the world championship race in Kona. First I had to worry about football fans, now I gotta worry about injuries from that insane competition... ever read what the ironman involves .. Holy Crap.

I will say this GNU, both kids love the NFL. Raised a lot of money for all kinds of charities, traveled a lot and have lifelong friends including some hall of fame players and coaches. But as a dad, I hated it!! LOL

Well put gnu! As a musician in my twenties I loved it when the opposite sex oggled me and catcalled while i was performing. having your looks noticed and remarked on or whistled at is not a bad thing or exploitive. I don't know one woman who doesn't love being told that she is beautiful. As for men that is one of the top qualities we look for in a mate. You can dissagree and pretend its shallow all you want but i'll call you a liar or a unick. As for the woman they spend a lot of time and money on triing to look thier best.

I have seen the buffalo fans get rude to the cheerleaders but I'd bet they do it despite the jerks because it's fun not because someone is forcing them to do degrading things. I even know a girl who made a living making x-rated films and loved it no regrets now years later. She wasn't exploited or forced into it. There is nothing wrong with beauty but the ones who seem to get upset at the thought of it seem to be the ones who lack it and are jealous.

I didn't want to start yet another Mudcat debate here. I don't think looking at cheerleaders is perverse and I don't think they're being exploited. I love to admire women also, sometimes they are the only ones who make life worth living. I guess it's just a matter of personal taste. But more importantly...only three games left! Who the hell do I want to win? Give me a team to cheer (heh) for.

One thing, the security around the girls is first rate and that helped. I never missed a game when my kids were cheering, not in HS, college, or the NFL.   Never missed an Ironman except this last one in Hawaii but my wife was there (I got sick). For the cheerleaders it is a wonderful fun time. I was very proud of them making the team . Most of the fans were fine, some were awful, a couple tried the stalker thing ( I handled that real quick) I am just glad it is over but happy they had such a wonderful experience. My oldest gets invites still from Jim Kelly for his golf outing along with so many of the other Bills greats and Patriots greats also. just glad its over from a dad standpoint

J-boy, Tommy and crew will be back for sure. They are a great team every year. They still got their someday "hall of fame" coach. Still got the best QB in the league. Thing about them, every year they are a contender. They will as always make another run at it next year. Our Buffalo Bills here, ya gotta go back to Jim Kelly and the time my kids were in it to have something to look forward to. At least the New England folks have something to look forward to every year. Been 11 years since the Bills were in the playoff's. I think the difference between teams is the organization itself. I was on an airplane going to Wisconsin for example and the guy next to me was all decked out in Steeler stuff. We got talking, he was a scout for the Steelers. I asked him what college was he going to ... he said no I am going to the High Schools to get some players on our radar .. They start at the HS level! That is why each year they are in the hunt. My bet, the Pats do the exact same thing.

Gary there was no excuse for that performance. I think they just didn't really take the Jets serious as they had blown them out a few weeks earlier ... The team I watch just didn't show up to play but the Jets sure did. Now Pittsburgh better take them serious, their coach seems to know how to motivate his team. I do however think the Steeler defense will rise to match them. I am hoping anyway.
