Subject: BS: Leaked Iraq 'war' documents 2010.10.22 From: gnu Date: 22 Oct 10 - 01:40 PM Story. "Ryan Crocker, U.S. ambassador to Iraq from 2007-08, said the disclosures would be more worrisome if the U.S. were still fully engaged in combat in Iraq — but he still sees it as a major problem. "I'd really be worried if — as looks to be the case — you have Iraqi political figures named in a context or a connection that can make them politically and physically vulnerable to their adversaries," he told a conference Friday at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington." So... how did such a thing happen if it could further destabilize Iraq? Hmmmmmm? |

Subject: RE: BS: Leaked Iraq 'war' documents 2010.10.22 From: Donuel Date: 22 Oct 10 - 04:14 PM Believe it or not the Pentagon is poised to intercept this release. For printed versions they have allocated money to buy up every copy. (just like in the movies) As for the internet they are prepared to block every site and mirror site while getting to the server in Europe that is taksed with the document release. I think they should call this mission, Operation Blunder. |

Subject: RE: BS: Leaked Iraq 'war' documents 2010.10.22 From: Naemanson Date: 24 Oct 10 - 02:44 AM You know, it's a good thing there are people out there who can still be shocked at what the government of the United States is willing and able to do to oppress and subjugate other peoples. I wish I still had that ability but I've become too cynical and bitter at my own government and how they seem determined to destroy their own country and embitter the rest of the world. |

Subject: RE: BS: Leaked Iraq 'war' documents 2010.10.22 From: GUEST,Ebbie Date: 24 Oct 10 - 10:49 PM "For printed versions they have allocated money to buy up every copy." Pardon me if I say that does not make sense. "Buying up every copy" not only encourages them to print more, it gives them the money to do so. |

Subject: RE: BS: Leaked Iraq 'war' documents 2010.10.22 From: Sawzaw Date: 24 Oct 10 - 11:46 PM Where are the leaked documents on what happened in Chechnya Mr. Assange? WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange abruptly ends CNN interview During the interview regarding the WikiLeaks controversial release of classified military records, the CNN reporter tried to establish credibility of Julian Assange's leadership by asking him some tough personal questions. The first of these related to Assange's alleged conflicts with some of his WikiLeaks staff members. Some of the former employees, who got suspended during their tenure at the company, cited Assange's difficult personality in their conversations with CNN. WikiLeaks founder appeared visibly uncomfortable at this line of questioning, but remained in his seat, giving a standard corporate reply that these employees must have complained because they were unhappy about being suspended. The CNN reporter then proceeded to ask Assange about the sex abuse charges e had faced in Sweden (they were later dropped). "I'm going to walk if you're going to contaminate this extremely serious interview with questions about my personal life," said remarkably agitated Assange at this point. When the reporter pushed the issue, he decided to keep his word by briskly getting out of his seat, ripping off the microphone and exiting the interview leaving the reporter and the camera crew immobilized with shock. HMMMMMMMMMMMMM I thought you believe in full disclosure with nothing kept secret. |

Subject: RE: BS: Leaked Iraq 'war' documents 2010.10.22 From: Richard Bridge Date: 25 Oct 10 - 01:22 AM I think you'll find that the point of wikileaks is about authorities etc suppressing what the public have a genuine and legitimate interest in knowing. I think you'll also find that there is a considerable likelihood that the Swedish charges against Assange are part of a US led counter-attack on the credibility of Assange: http://www.mathaba.net/news/?x=624686?related I usually find what Geoffrey Robertson says compelling. |
