Subject: BS: George Carlin's Amazing Mind From: Lizzie Cornish 1 Date: 02 Nov 10 - 06:50 PM :0) Is this guy clever, or...what? The Seven Words "LIZZZZZZIE! Get thee to The Extraordinarilyextremely Seven Words of NAUGHTY Step, right NOW!" "Yes, Joey" she said...through her chuckles.. |
Subject: RE: BS: George Carlin's Amazing Mind From: Bill D Date: 02 Nov 10 - 06:59 PM WAS clever... he died several years ago....it's a very old routine here, and many of us laughed ourselves silly as Carlin forced the issue of 'naughty words' into the mainstream. He was a brilliant comedian and a very humble guy who delighted in poking fun at society's foibles. |
Subject: RE: BS: George Carlin's Amazing Mind From: bobad Date: 02 Nov 10 - 07:07 PM Great to hear that routine again - it's been a long time - it made me laugh out loud. Puts to shame the comedians of today - I don't often laugh at their routines, am more than likely to change the channel. Thanks Lizzie. |
Subject: RE: BS: George Carlin's Amazing Mind From: Lizzie Cornish 1 Date: 02 Nov 10 - 07:08 PM Sorry, Bill, yes...I meant 'was'....sad that we weren't allowed to keep his brilliant mind for a little longer. I love his routines so much. I've just finished listening to this one.. George on Saving The Planet |
Subject: RE: BS: George Carlin's Amazing Mind From: catspaw49 Date: 02 Nov 10 - 08:07 PM There was Lenny, there was Richard, and there was George........sort of a Holy Trinity of stand-up philosophers................... Spaw |
Subject: RE: BS: George Carlin's Amazing Mind From: Lizzie Cornish 1 Date: 03 Nov 10 - 04:13 AM Can you imagine being George's teacher?! That brilliant mind was probably *always* 120 steps of his teachers...and I bet he wriggled and jiggled and got bored out of his mind having to sit there doing 'stuff'... I wonder how many routines he worked out whilst he was at school... And yes, a Stand-Up Philosopher describes George, and Lenny and Richard, perfectly! 'Stuff' And this is my favourite, because of the absolute truth inside it...which so many are now starting to realise was FAR from a comedy routine! This is the best thing I've ever seen! And it sums up so much of how I feel, so much of what I see around me, whilst so many don't see it at all.... Pass this one around to as many folks as you can... 'Who Really Controls America' - (and the rest of the world!) |
Subject: RE: BS: George Carlin's Amazing Mind From: andrew e Date: 03 Nov 10 - 08:28 AM That's right Lizzie, it's not really a comedy routine. Even the seven words you can't say on TV, shows that this world is insane. Check out David Icke . http://www.davidicke.com/index.php/ Also some of his videos on YouTube. The ones from Melbourne are great. The Love Police is pretty good too. http://www.facebook.com/TheLovePolice http://www.cveitch.org/wordpress/ |
Subject: RE: BS: George Carlin's Amazing Mind From: bankley Date: 03 Nov 10 - 09:24 AM and thanks to Mort Saul and Lenny Bruce for blazing the trail |
Subject: RE: BS: George Carlin's Amazing Mind From: Lizzie Cornish 1 Date: 03 Nov 10 - 03:00 PM Thanks, Andrew....I already have The Love Police on my Facebook page...and wrote to Charlie after he got arrested by those 'We're not Mounties' Canadian police at the G20 Conference. He got very down, very upset about how they treated him...poor Charlie...but I think he's keeping the show on the road.. I'm so behind so much of what George Carlin says...He spoke my language, and it's great that we still have his videos.. Mort Saul, Ron? Gonna check him out now.. |
Subject: RE: BS: George Carlin's Amazing Mind From: catspaw49 Date: 03 Nov 10 - 03:17 PM SAHL not Saul........And Mort was never half what the others were. He did lots of political comedy but really didn't blaze many new trails as Lenny did. The guy was funny though and I liked him, just not quite in the same league..........had a great delivery at times. Spaw |
Subject: RE: BS: George Carlin's Amazing Mind From: andrew e Date: 03 Nov 10 - 03:49 PM Hi Lizzie, I've also been following Charlie's[Love Police] videos. I think he's sort of OK now. Must have been a terrible experience for him in Toronto. Andrew |
