Subject: RE: BS: The worlds best pie From: Doug Chadwick Date: 27 Nov 10 - 02:20 PM ....either Pecan Pie or Key Lime Pie. How that be the world's best pie? Where's the meat? DC |
Subject: RE: BS: The worlds best pie From: John MacKenzie Date: 27 Nov 10 - 02:16 PM I do Bubble ans squeak with my Christmas leftovers, although it never includes turkey. Not fond of turkey, find it too dry, and a bit coarse in texture. Shall be having pork and crackling, with all trimmings for my Christmas dinner Add onions, and chop up some of the meat, throw in the leftover veg, add some butter, and fry briskly. The aim is to get the edges crispy. Yummy |
Subject: RE: BS: The worlds best pie From: VirginiaTam Date: 27 Nov 10 - 02:09 PM ClaireBear That sounds like my Boxing Day pie... Christmas turkey, parsnips, roast taters and gravy, in an oven dish covered with stuffing, drizzled with more gravy. |
Subject: RE: BS: The worlds best pie From: ClaireBear Date: 27 Nov 10 - 01:58 PM Mincemeat from my own recipe. Second-best is T-Day Leftovers Pie, which is everything you had for Thanksgiving dinner (turkey, yams, peas, dressing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy...) moistened with a bit of turkey gravy and baked en croute, preferably deep-dish. Better than Thanksgiving dinner! |

Subject: RE: BS: The worlds best pie From: gnu Date: 27 Nov 10 - 01:55 PM If it was made with my grandfather LeBlanc's crust recipe you would. Even melt in yiour mouth flaky on the bottom. |

Subject: RE: BS: The worlds best pie From: EBarnacle Date: 27 Nov 10 - 01:51 PM Many years ago, I grew out of Boston Cream Pie. My current preference is a cheese cake make with cream cheese [no ricotta, thank you] and key lime. Why waste stomach volume on a lot of crust? |
Subject: RE: BS: The worlds best pie From: GUEST,Jon Date: 27 Nov 10 - 01:46 PM And for a sweet pie. apple pie. |
Subject: RE: BS: The worlds best pie From: GUEST,Jon Date: 27 Nov 10 - 01:43 PM I suppose being more food thinking Pip's Spinach and cheese pie has to be up with the best. |
Subject: RE: BS: The worlds best pie From: gnu Date: 27 Nov 10 - 01:40 PM At the moment, it's coconut cream pie from Nanna's Bakery as far as Mum is concerned. Me, I gotta go with strawberry-rhubarb and a strong cup of tea. |
Subject: RE: BS: The worlds best pie From: GUEST,Jon Date: 27 Nov 10 - 01:33 PM Humble pie but I'm not to good at eating it... |

Subject: RE: BS: The worlds best pie From: VirginiaTam Date: 27 Nov 10 - 01:19 PM mmmm pecan pie ... then key lime as a palate cleanser so you can have some more pecan pie |
Subject: BS: The worlds best pie From: Wesley S Date: 27 Nov 10 - 01:17 PM I've decided that the worlds best pie is either Pecan Pie or Key Lime Pie. It's a tie. End of story. And anyone who disagrees is just a troll. |
