I think this is perfect in a way..if you have teenage daughters watch it with them and point out creepy men and say (a) if anyone ever says anything like they said to her at the roast (and the host was the worst) tell them to stop right then and there. (b) if your friend warns you the guy is no good, the producers warn you the guy is no good, figure the guy is no good. (c) Watch Bently especially and how sleazy he is etc. and tell her that there are men out there like that and do not give them the time of day. Also there are great ones, and there seem to be some on the show..but who does she fall for? After serious warnings? mg

Is this the thread for worst new word? I agree with bachelorette. Then again, jockette is probably worse...

It's been my observation that girls are attracted to bad boys.

I think that is true..some girls and women. I think they need to be trained and trained in how to spot them, and frankly the pickings are slim in some circles. They have to know that it is better to be a spinster than to be with a creep, and choosing creeps over a decent man is a moral issue that they need to think about. mg

In youth, demonstrating rejection of parental control is often important.

I find mg's use of the word "trained" somewhat sinister. But then I find her approach to the possibility of freedom of choice by women somewhat sinister in general.

That is life though. Life is full of mistakes and just part of growing up learning to differentiate between the nice guys and the bad guys. All too often the so called nice guy can end up being a 'mr. nasty' in time i.e. Ryan Giggs UK footballer not previously known for bad behaviour. The sad fact is that to a healthy young woman mr. safe and dependable although the most logical choice isn't always a terribly attractive quality. Most of us thankfully work it out eventually.

Stupidest show I ever saw. And that was after being forced to watch a single episode. I can't understand how it keeps getting renewed season after season.

Well, I guess I do--because people enjoy watching mindless crap.

"bachelorette" the past tense of bachelor eat.

Example: The bachelorette a full lunch, and drunk a glass of beer.

Oh...a TV show! Those shows would not survive without making sure that conflicts and unhappy episodes are regular occurrences. They use stereotyped setups with far from 'average' people to sell soap!

In the real world? well....EVERYONE has to learn to spot bad choices in the opposite sex....and it's made harder because the bad choices learn to lie & deceive. It's called 'experience'.
