Car? Ya got an old Dodge with a 1/4" skid plate from wheel ta wheel ta bumper at bumper? Buddy a mine had one. That sucker made it near a click up Stoney Crick one night. Hell of a time gettin him outta there but it was an adventure.

Why did he drive up a Crick? Well, it was there... and so was a gallon a shine and some Albert County homegrown. Oh... yeah... that was in Albert County... nuff said... them southern boys is a bit off eh.

When Lynard Skynard played here a while back they were informed that the "anthem" of the Albert County good ol boys was Sweet Home Albert County and the lead singer said that kinda frightened him. And it shoulda. Rednecks from anywhere can fray yer nerves.

"Reverse? What's that?"

Been waiting in vain for enlightenment, so for the benefit of the similarly-bewildered: What the *** is a bug deflector?

"What's on YER bug deflector?"

Of course you know the last thing to go through a bug's mind when it and the deflector meet at 60 mph, right?

"In addition to guarding the windshield, a bug deflector also protects the hood from pitting due to flying pebbles, tar and other road debris."

And bugs. A June bug can really mess up a paint job.

Well, well, thanks WillFly, don't think I've ever come across one of those. Odd really, because we have plenty of vehicles that might benefit, though there might be some obscure regulation preventing their use. I don't suppose our bug problem is anything to rival yours, but necessity seldom seems to drive motoring fashions here, and people will fix almost any kind of gadget to their vehicles.

So-called 'Roo Bars had a widespread vogue here a few years ago (despite our having very few wild 'roos to fend off) but it suddenly faded when insurers started to notice they could increase the claim from damaged third parties. The things were priced off all but the most determined addicts' vehicles, I could imagine something similar affecting bug deflectors.

Thanks for the link, Will. I too was wondering what exactly a bug deflector is. At first I thought it must be those things in the back, but no, those are mudflaps.

And, the new bumper ain't gonna keep any pines offina yer grill. AND, ya can set a beer down on the bumper... WTF? What were they thankin?

gnu? I think you should know...Chongo recently copyrighted the spelling of the word "yer" and all its derivatives, such as YER, for example.

You owe Chongo a penny for every time you type the word "YER", "yer", or any other form of yer.

Total it up, okay? You can pay him through Paypal.
